We are going up the coast of Maine for a week and would like some help in what Lighthouses we could visit, go into, get close for Photos, Etc etc.Any Ideas, and where should we start.

I would start looking through all of the sites for Maine on the Internet Index of Lighthouse Links. http://www.harbourlights.com/links/index.htm

Also, you should check out the book Maine Lighthouses - A Pictoral Guide by Courtney Thompson. I'm not sure if it is available from Lighthouse Depot but Barnes and Noble online at www.bn.com would be a good place to look.

Looks like we have a new member of the forums here. Welcome aboard. If you have the time, I would visit all of the Maine lights. They are some of my favorites. Take pictures and keep us posted on what you see and where you go. Did I read in the playroom that you are going to work at Race Point on the Cape? Sounds interesting!

If you can pick up the lighthouse map from Lighthouse Depot in Wells, it has great directions. They also have a printout at the checkout station in the front of the store that has directions to the local area (Portland and southern Maine)lights. Maybe if you don't have time to stop by they could fax you the directions.
My personal all time favorite is Pemaquid Point. It is about a 1 1/2 hour drive north of Portland. It is the most beautiful setting. There is a snack bar/gift shop/restaurant right next door where you can pick up lunch and have a picnic on the rocks.

I want to thank everyone for their help in our Maine trip, I see we have a lot of home work to do.If any one is going to be around Race Point Lighthouse this Sept 9-15th stop in and say hello, we will be working there for the week.
