Spur of the Moment FL lighthouse mini-tour - 09/20/01 02:59 PM
My plans to go to Orlando tomorrow are a go. Last night my aunt invited us to go down to Miami to visit her for the weekend. Among some things on the agenda are a trip to the Everglades and to Bill Baggs recreation to see Cape Florida. Looking at the map, my return to Orlando on Monday will take me past Jupiter Inlet and Hillsboro. My research tells me Jupiter is open to climb Sun - Wed so I should be able to get in. Hillsboro is not open to the public but is readily visible from the road. If anyone familiar with the area has a chance to read this in the next day or 2, please let me know if I am mistaken about anything of if I am missing any smaller lights in the vicinity that I should try to see (I hit Ponce de Leon 2 years ago so I probably won't go again unless I have the time).

there is a small parking lot right across the canal from the light where you can get great pix or from the beaches Bill O'Brien.

Hi,
There is a public parking for beach access a mile or so from the light(I believe this is South of the light)....if you get there early you can get a spot....turn left at the beach and you will see the light. The park that is near there is okay, but walking out on the beach you get to see more.....

Thanks a billion you guys. I am in a packing frenzy right now. I printed off the page with your directions and will use them when I head up to Hillsboro Monday.
