The "Ghost of Harbour Lights past" has risen! The second I saw it was you, I shouted "IT'S ALIVE" and saw images from "Young Frankenstein".

On the serious note, it's nice to see you checked in on us, Tim. No, I haven't seen the Selkirk Van, but the "Orange Blossom Special" is parked in my driveway.

Mark had it a while back. Didn't he return it to the FSB? Guess that means you have to drive the zamboni?

For those of us who are ignorant, could someone enlighten us about the Selkirk Van?

I did enjoy the youtube! I love that movie, especially Marty Feldman as "I"gore and the hump that kept changing sides, and the brain from "Abby Normal".

This isn't the Selkirk Van story but it might help you understand Tim, Mombo, Mark and some of the other early cast of Wackos on board here..

The second post which is by Rod and the second link in that post is the best place to start..

Bob Story

or click on the following to just get the original story written by Tim which is just the 2nd link..

Original Bob Story

You have to remember that Tim's tongue is firmly planted in his cheek while you read the story...

The Selkirk Van story is best explained by Mombo..

If you do a search in the Fog Signal Building Forum with the words - Selkirk van - you will start to get some idea..

Thanks Paul. I have seen some of Tim's posts and stories and realized he has quite the wit!

I am familiar with the Bob story but will admit that I did not know the real story when I bought my first Bob tree. shocked

I am sorry to say that I was not a HL collector at the time the memorial to Bob was held at the Bobfest in Colorado, and missed the felling of the large Aspen and subsequent bonfire and beaver roast. That would have been a very special event to say one had attended.

Thanks for the link Tim.

The links Paul provided provided some excellent background into the earlier goings on here. But I had not had an opportunity to complete the reading of all the results provided by the search on Selkirk Van.

Based on my readings, I can say that the Selkirk Van is not anywhere near the vincinity of Franktown.

Melody, don't be so sure it wasn't in your area as I heard the Selkirk Van has the capability to go into a stealth mode, much like the Klingons..

Oh my!

Well there is a biker bar in Franktown (appropriately named the Stage Coach since Franktown used to have a stagecoach stop) where the driver could stop for "refreshments".
