Ok, I admit I'm still dazed from 'Zilla Mania '99, but I think it would be neat if HL came out with photo cards of each replica with abbreviated certificate of authenticity-type information on the back.

This way I can show the latest pictures of my babies to my family and close friends. Wallet-size cards so you can carry your favorites with you everywhere!!

Just a "little" warped,

Steve

That sounds like a good idea to me, Steve.

Isn't this what HL already sells as "Cigarette Cards" (Set of 50 lights)for $15?

Not the same, Mombo. The cigarette cards are repros of antique cards depicting real lighthouses. Those are not photos, and they're not HLs like Steve suggested above.

Along with the cards Steve suggests, HL needs to provide a bumper sticker saying "Ask me about pictures of my Harbour Lights".

Steve, I love the idea. Can't tell you how many people look at me weird when I say I collect Harbour Lights. I belong to quilt guilds, and I have brought one to a special night the guilds have to see what else you do besides quilting. I'm now "the lighthouse lady."

I like the card idea. Included with the info on the back should be some info about the edition size, when issued, original retail price, maybe Bill, Nancy, Kim or even the artist's signature could be included (as some baseball cards have the signature of the player. And how about a picture of the real thing?

Harbour Lights photo cards sound like an fun way to share our enthusiasm for Harbour Lights with our friends who have no idea what we are talking about. At the hospital where I work most of my collegues know about my passion for lighthouses. It would be fun to have something pocket size to carry with you to show friends !! Great Idea!! Where do we sign up??

Instead of showing our friends pictures of our kids/grandkids we ask, "Would you like to see a picture of my newest HL"?

We could get one of those credit card holders that open up and when you let it go it flops all the way to the floor!

I like the idea as well. How about sending a card to a friend to get them interested in lighthouses?

Count me in. I think that cards area great idea. I have been putting my COA's in those protector sleeves and makeing a album of my acquisitions, but the notebook is too big to carry around.

I like the idea of Baseball type cards with the stats on the back:
name, H/L number, piece number (enter your own), location, date built, height, you know, all those things.

Everytime i'm in a dealers store, I want to pullout my list, but the cards would be so much better.

Yep, Yep, you bet, Cards would be great.

How about Harbour Lights including a wallet sized card with every HL purchased (inside the box). That way you get the cards for the ones you own. A set of cards for earlier editions could be sold separately.

I think it's a great idea to include a "baseball" style card of the purchased HL lighthouse in the box. That way, I could bring it to work and show the card instead of taking the piece. I love to show everyone my beautiful HL lighthouses. So far, Cape Canaveral is everyone's favorite. I suppose they're just biased since the Cape is only 35 miles away.

OK, how about issuing those cards numbered and with the issue size matching the number of pieces made of each? We'll have a big 'trade' event.

"I need a 4898 Portland Head" "I've got a 1234 Portland Breakwater to trade".

John, I think that would work out about as well as the matching numbers on the Rose Island Reunion pieces and Mark Sherman Rose Island prints did:

Matching Numbers Any one?

Reading the above responses, it sounds to me like the photo cards could be a marketing tool for HLs. I think it would be a mistake to limit their production.

IMHO, of course.

I think the idea of baseball size trading cards is a great idea? When my friends and family see my new Harbor Lights, they always want to know where its located and basic stats. It would be great to be able to put them by my pieces so no one would have to pick them up. Right now I just drag out one of my photo albums to show what the piece looks like now of to let me read about the information I've gathered in the Lighthouse Adventures.

Does anyone else's family and friends think they should belong to "Lighthouses Anonomyous"?

Must be a branch of HLA. I think I qualify. Family and friends concur.

I like the idea of a wallet-sized card included with each HL purchase. This would make a really neat photo album of sorts and would be an easy way to show your collection to people that can't come to your home. For those with massive collections (who can't display them all at once), this would make a great way to have pictures of the ones that they can't have out at the moment.
