You may not have noticed it but the print of Rose Island by Mark Sherman is serially numbered in pencil in the lower left next to his signature.

If you're a number person and might be interested in matching your print # to your miniature # (and the full size one), you can post it here.

It may take a three-way or four-way trade or more to get the numbers you want.

For example, I have PRINT #81, #90, #107, #296, looking for PRINT #32, #33, #34 to match miniatures.

We have number 14 and are looking for number 402 or 403. We also had 13 but gave it to our Dealer as a gift. Also our #14 is signed by B. Younger.

Is there a math major in the house that can tell us the odds of getting the prints and lighthouses to match?

For those who didn't attend the Reunion, we should explain that the miniatures were handed out at the Registration table and had pre-assigned by number to individuals.

The prints were set at the tables Sunday morning, one per setting -- without assigned seating. The serial numbers on the prints are in pencil on a colored background and not easy to spot at that.

The odds of getting a print that matched your serial numbered miniature would be about one in 700. But with 180 or so of those attending the reunion being registered here (perhaps more if we count their families), the odds of finding a matching number print is not too bad. (I wasn't a math major so I can't tell you.)

Just a suggestion on how to handle trades if you're lucky enough. It's not likely that two parties will have exact matches. Only one party in each trade is going to be 'made whole'.

1. Scan the entries here first. If you find a print that matches your serial number, email that person, and arrange a swap of prints.

2. The person who gets the matching print pays for their own mailing (of the prints they are giving up) AND the mailing cost of the person sending them the matching print #s. (After all, they are the only ones benefiting from the trade.)

3. Whether any cash should change hands as well is between the two parties. My suggestion is not but that's up to you.

4. Create a new reply that lists your (new) print #s and the miniature #s you want to match.
