Pharo,

Thanks for the lead! I received a quick response to a question that I had for them and they added that if anyone is interested, they should act quickly because the Pharos are selling quickly. I look forward to seeing these rare lights.

According to the source I purchased from, he has no problem getting PHAROS pieces, and currently has (had) 10 sets already for sale. My final price (after currency exchange) delivered from England was $284.

I just ordered my set online from the world of shopping. The total cost came to about $280 including shipping. They seem to have quite a few of the Pharos pieces in stock.

I order mine last Wednesday thru email. $279 including shipping. Thanks pharologst. If it wasn't for you I would probably never have a full set of Pharos. This is truly collectors helping collectors.

The dealer called me from England Wednesday and was curious how I got his address. I told him the Pharologst gave it to me. That it was posted on the Harbour Light Collectors Forum and many more will be asking for the Pharos.
He said for anyone that wants one to hurry up and order. He sold 10 all ready and a new shipment just came in. Besides the Americans wanting them the English are buying them too. He said that there was a total of 190 Pharos sets released in the United Kingdom.

Thanks for the info, ordered a set on Friday by phone along with a set of the British Isles. They are getting alot of orders.
The sales person said they are trying to get 20 more sets but wasn't sure if they would all come in.

If you want a set - I would suggest you act fast.

The numbers on my pieces range from 2048 to 2378. If there were an equal number of each piece made (sets) this would indicate at least 331 providing no numbers were skipped?

The numbers on my pieces range from 2075 to 2385. The total range of sets on mine is 311. It would be interesting to see what numbers others are getting!

Ordered mine this morning. There are at least three others, Bishop Rock, Longstone, and Old Lundy that I would like to order later. Should get them this week.... Glad I got home in time to find out about this dealer. Thanks George!

You are comparing apples and oranges... There were more of some made than there were of others. It is possible that the range of numbers from high to low is a lot more than the number of sets, since we are not talking about matched numbered sets...

Are you sure you paid $379, as I only paid $279 ($284 with the currency exchange)?

Instead of comparing apples to oranges, why don't we compare our numbers? Over in the section "BY THE NUMBERS" I have started a thread to compare each piece with their corresponding number. Maybe we can try and find out this way how many pieces were made! If you have any of the Pharos, please indicate which ones and the number on the piece. Thanks!

I suspect that there were more Portland Bill's made than the others, since it was the only done in China and the mold wasn't ruined. They couldn't have a series of just one light so they stopped production of it, but they probably had produced more quality Portland Bill lighthouses by then...

No mention yet of a set of "Little Lights" made in and for England. 14 so far, I think it is. From the picture, they appear rather crude and sloppy - more like Scassi:

Here's a look at them.

Reference you post 7/24 on Portland Bill being made in China. What country were the remaining Pharos made in?
Thanks

They were basically last lighthouses that Harbour lights had produced in Malaysia. Harbour Lights pulled all of their remaining lighthouses being produced out of Malaysia and they were either in the early-retired group… or are being finished or have been in China.

Thank you so much for the hot lead on the Pharos Collection. Without you all I wouldn't have been able to add these rare pieces to my collection. They should be arriving in a few days.

John, you mention above about Little Lights made in and for England. It has also been mentioned about a British Isles collection. We also have the Pharos collection. Just how many different collections is Harbour Lights making for sale outside the U.S. and what lights are in each collection?

Thanks,

Lighthouse Ghost

There's a picture of the British Isles collection, and also for sale, though i've waited forever for mine, through a website "All Things Nautical". They don't carry the English "Little Lights". Does anybody know where to get these?

"How many different collections is Harbour Lights making..."

Exactly ONE - Pharos - and they aren't making that right now.

The British Isles Collection and the English Little Lights... well that's a long story that will need to be told some day.

Let's say they were a surprise to the Younger Family.

It is a little touchy, right now... to tell the whole story.

Trust me I have the British Little Lights and you don't want to buy them yet... they do not have the Harbour Lights seal of approval (with good reason IMHO).

Sounds like you may have to sit in with some lawyers to hear the whole story.
