We'll See, Next Weekend - 05/26/01 09:02 PM

I understand that Bill will be presenting Connie Small with a special gift at her 100th Birthday Celebration next weekend, June 2nd. Since Connie and her late husband kept the Porsmouth Harbor lighthouse, and the celebration will be in Portsmouth, NH, it is a good bet that we may see this lighthouse as part of the Harbour Lights Collection very soon.

100th birthday! What an accomplishment!...and what a nice gift a Portsmouth Harbor Harbour Light would be!
It would be such a great lighthouse for Harbour Lights to make! Do you think it would include parts of Fort Constitution with it? I guess we'll see, as you said.
I just saw this one by land and water two weeks ago today. See here for more of the lighthouse visit and pictures: http://www.lighthousekeepers.com/forums/Forum15/HTML/000272.html

I agree that the Portsmouth Harbor LH would be nice to have in the collection. Mind you this is only speculation on my part based on reading between the lines when Nancy mentioned (last weekend on Cape Cod)that Bill would be in Portsmouth to celebrate Connie's 100th Birthday and would be giving her a "special" gift.

Thanks for the links to the websites of pictures and information. I'll bet you had a great time in NH and we are looking forward to the same this coming weekend. I hope it's not raining.

I'll let you know if the "special" gift is what is speculated, as soon as Connie opens her present from Bill.

Harbour Lights pre-release to benefit American Lighthouse Foundation

Autographed Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse replica to be pre-released for five days only.

In honor of Connie Small’s 100th birthday, the American Lighthouse Foundation and Harbour Lights are pleased to announce the pre-release of the Harbour Lights replica of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse.

The Portsmouth Harbor lighthouse will be pre-released at the American Lighthouse Foundation Spring Event to be held this Saturday, June 2nd in Portsmouth, NH.
Connie Small known as “The First Lady of Light” will be in attendance with us celebrating her 100th birthday. Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse was the last station that she and her husband were stationed at when they retired from the U.S. Lighthouse Service in 1948.

We have a limited quantity of the Harbour Lights replica of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse, which will be available for sale at this Saturday’s event. This beautiful replica, which includes the keeper’s house, oil house, walkway, and ruins of the fort, is limited to only 6,500 produced. Part of the proceeds raised through the sale of the replica during this pre-release will benefit the American Lighthouse Foundation and our new chapter, The Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse. It is available as item #42259 for $78.95. This will be the only time that sales of the Portsmouth Harbor Light replica will benefit our non-profit group.

As a special bonus, all replicas purchased during this pre-release event, which ends with orders received through 4 PM Monday, June 4th, will be dated and autographed by Tim Harrison, president of the American Lighthouse Foundation. This will be a rare opportunity to obtain a pre-released replica that is dated and autographed, plus you will have helped promote and preserve this wonderful lighthouse.

You do not need to be present to obtain a Harbour Lights replica of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse. We will accept orders on a first come first served basis until our limited supply is sold out. Orders can be placed through Lighthouse Depot, on behalf of the American Lighthouse Foundation at www.lighthousedepot.com or by calling 1-800-758-1444. Item # 42259 - Portsmouth Harbor Light - $78.95.

Remember, this special pre-release offer, which benefits the American Lighthouse Foundation, ends at 4 PM on Monday, June 4th.

Well this is great news, Mike! Only one thought, wouldn't it be even neater if they were signed by Connie?

That is a great offer but I'll wait until my reserve number comes through from my dealer. There is only so much room for storage of HL's at my home. One of these days I must pull out some of the duplicate lights I have and offer them on the Market Place. I try not to buy duplicates but sometimes I see a number with a meaning to me and I can't resist.

Me 4, Sean and Paul. I've decided to install built-in shelves with crown molding in the new house which will line the perimeter of my home study. Figure I'll put some HLs there. Portsmouth Harbor will be a very nice addition!
