Wondering if all came from Lighthouse Depot?
Are they the first dealer to have them? They must get a huge number of autoships. I'm hoping mine get to my St. Louis dealer soon!

Wow, when they said these would be lighted I never thought about flashing. Maybe I should put it down on the dock and see how many boats I can attract? I'll wait for a really nice one.

I believe the bulb is included, though the batteries are not. Look at holes in the Styrofoam and you should see a tiny plastic bag with the bulb inside.

Takes 2 AA batteries.

Paul and I have seen the same piece - an AP. I've asked for an answer from on high.

Perhaps the AP of the Beehive used the same electronics as the Clamshell for the APs only. Anybody know if Big Bay light really flashes?

Looks like just the blinking mechanism(large bulb)while the small bulb does not.I confirmed this by switching bulbs between both lens.Any other ideas?

Very interesting...

Do we have a variation, flashing versus non-flashing? We've waited so long for these lenses, I hope there isn't going to be a recall. Are the bulbs a "standard" type bulb you can purchase in any electrical store?

If you think about it, the way you make your Christmas lights flash is by inserting the flasher bulb into the first socket. Then the set will blink. I would bet this is similar technology.

to make along story short.....
called lighthouse depot, first round of lighthouses have been shipped (they are backordered again). Lighthouse Depot will not receive another shipment until the end of May. I am not to expect the lenses until June. Darn, I was so excited!

Hey, fl_light........

they're DEFINITELY worth the wait! Just got mine yesterday, and am going to investigate the flash vs non-flash phenomena. I built a kit lighthouse that came with 2 different bulbs - one that flashes and one that doesn't, so I "know" they're out there somewhere!

The lenses have made it to Texas! They were well worth the wait. I ordered from LH Depot this time. My regular dealer still doesn't have them. I'll be spending my evening rearranging lighthouses...these really need to be front and center. Terry

According to WWW.TerryPepper.com/light/superior/bigbay/bigbay.htm the Big Bay lens flashes every 20 seconds due to rotating bulls eye in the lens. I'll have to search out another flashing light bulb. How is everyone displaying these new lenses? I have mine on either side of the original 5th order.

Think I've found a source for the flashing bulbs. Should have them by the first of the
week. This is like finding a needle in a haystack. As soon as I'm sure it's the right
one, I'll post the contact info.

The Fresnels have arrived in the Midwest!
Got a call from my dealer today and was over there to pick them up in a "flash" (But I haven't tried mine out yet to see if they flash). They are both quite impressive, but my favorite is the clamshell. The clerks in the store were quite impressed with them too.
Now to buy another curio cabinet.....

"Old Betsie" the mule the local mailman uses isn't walking as fast as she use to.... The lenses haven't made it here yet.
I noticed them being on ebay already I'll wait alittle longer for my local dealer to get them in. I'm only getting the clamshell.

gee, I'm beginning to think I made a mistake ordering these through LHD. I haven't checked the local dealers yet but I'm stuck with the Depot anyhow. I don't think I'll do that again. I put my order in back in Mid November...Anybody else having the same problem that ordered from LH Depot?
