I have noticed some people asking about lighthouse adventures in New England. I thought I would post our itenerary from last fall on our 10 1/2 day trip to New England. This was our 3rd trip to the area in the last 4 years, so it does not cover much of Cape Cod & the Islands, Rhode Island & Connecticut, and the Boston/ Plymouth area, since we had already covered much of those areas twice already on previous trips. The following post is long and tedious, but we visited 9 states and over 50 lighthouses successfully. Roughly 2 days of this trip was when Becki and I were at the 1998 Reunion, that part of the schedule does not show up here. But our traveling friends Brad and Andrea took our Blazer to visit Marthas Vineyard during those 2 days before picking us back up. Their part of the trip *IS* included here.

The trip covers alot of Lake Erie and Ontario lights, New England Lights, and Hudson River Lights, as well as some fabulous other stops in the Franconian Notch, Salem, Lexington, Concord, Bennington, etc, etc. So it is not all lighthouses.

The list comes from a Microsoft Word file, but lost its layout and "boldness" during the copy and paste transfer to the Forums, so it is a little tough to read. The schedules worked excellent between stops, rarely were we behind or even ahead of schedule. (This list was made out before we left, kept on the schedule to a "T". My personal maps are awesome, never taking wrong turns or getting lost....well, once in a while) Some of the restaurants and hotels are listed here also. My "real" travel itenerary, which includes all travel maps and directions to each stop is ***HUGE***, so this is just the "simple" breakdown with no directions or anything, just items on the schedule. LOL.

Maybe their is at least one or two ideas a few people can take from this on your future adventures. I have a lot of detailed info if anyone has any questions, e-mail me.

Maybe someday in the future I'll post a couple of our previous trips to the New England or Great Lakes areas. I am presently in the planning and booking phase of our next vacation to the Chesapeake Bay, Outer Banks, the Mid Atlantic Coast, and back home through the Blue Ridge mountains for this May. Another 10 1/2 day shot. Almost completed now. I think I just broke the record for the longest post! LOL.

Thanks Rod, I'll be hitting that area in June for a New England club meeting. This gives me another reference. I'll be in touch when I need to ask you more specifics.
