The Long Island Chapter of the United States Lighthouse Society

Barbecue at the Plum Island Light Station

Saturday, August 11, 10AM

Your participation will help us to raise funds for the preservation of the lighthouse.

This event will also commemorate the 226th anniversary of the landing of General Wooster's troops on Plum Island, as well as the 212th anniversary of the signing of the Lighthouses Act (August 7) by President Washington.

There will be a Revolutionary War reenactment, among other activities, and guests will include some former Plum Island keepers who have agreed to share their memories with us.

$75 for Chapter members, $85 for nonmembers.

The deadline for paid reservations is August 1st, due to Plum Island rules, but you may not wish to wait that long to be sure there's still room.

Make checks payable to "Long Island Chapter, USLHS," with "August Barbecue" on the check and the envelope, and mail to

Long Island Chapter

Good news! The deadline for the raffle has been extended.
Due to the picnic being held on Federal property, we are delaying the raffle drawing until August 25th.
That gives you two more weeks to get your entries in!
Thanks for your support and participation.
