I'm strickly on batteries. I put batteries in when I want to see the lenses work and take them out as soon as I'm done. I don't want to see battery corrosion after I forget to take them out.

My Stratford is also strickly batteries. Works fine and again I see no need for an adapter as it will not be lit up for any great period of time. Just an opinion, humble as it may be.
