The first time I let my grandson eat on the couch, he immediately started to protect his plate - Mila was sitting between us. He couldn't believe that she proceeded to lie down and totally ignore us. I thoroughly believe as you do that it's the people food that makes the difference. If they are not used to it, they will not beg for it. However, Mila does go crazy when she hears popcorn popping in the microwave. She loves it!
