Mike... I guess you were on board that fast attack buoy tender when she tied up in downtown Portsmouth? I remember one evening while I was in Portsmouth in 1977, boarding her and taking a look around. Little did I know I was looking at a future duty station. I have a piece of the Madrona here at the house... an old solid brass voice tube which was on the bridge. I managed to grab it, er, obtain it (hey, Bosuns are scrounges) when we took her to the yards for the SLEP program. Ah yes, duty on a black hull. Zippie!
