I have mixed feelings about the gold pieces being considered as the ultimate HL collectible. I have one gold piece in my collection, Cape St. George, that Lorna won at the regional in Connecticut. Yes, it is rare. Yes, you just don't see these for sale. Yes, it may or may not be worth more than a Coquille LE, but it is a specialty item.

I'm willing to bet there are more collectors seeking the HL 111 or an HL 102R than looking for gold HL's. Collectors talk frequently about the dream of adding HL 111 or HL 102R to their collection, but how often do you hear people talking about their ultimate dream is to add a gold HL to their collection?
