Then, on to Cape Romain. You can't go ashore there at all. But, the view that you do get is spectacular. Captain Gallager told us that there are wild goats on the island, which have been there since the light was last manned in the 40's. We didnt see them though. We did see several dolphins, and got some great closeup photos of them.
I'm sorry you were not able to land at Cape Romain. I was there a couple of years ago and the path from the old dock area to the lights were clear. We had to wade in beside the dock for about 15-20 yards in less than knee deep water. The area around the lights was also clear and we were able to get inside of the old tower. The goats were not in sight, but man we could smell them.
