Selkirk is a B & B and privately owned and still for sale as far as I know. The owner is happy that an HL was done. Of course the lighthouse and marina are his business.

Not all privately/individually owned lighthouse owners are receptive to publicity, visitors, etc. as we know. But many are if approached the right way. I guess with HL it's sort of an eminent domain kind of thing. It doesn't matter who owns the lighthouse. They can still make it if they want. If they know that the owner is really opposed to it maybe they wouldn't do it? Which makes one wonder, do they advise such owners beforehand???
