(Thread as requested by Dave)

Any who have chatted know the software we use for it - basically the same as for several years, upgraded with updates. The point I brought up is, would it be worth it to dump the software when the payments are run-out and use one of the various free softwares?

Instead of spending the money on the chat software...what if we set up something with one of the free companies...like Skype or MSN/Live or something? I know a lot of us use some kind of messager...maybe we could find a common one and all use it?

Just an idea...with all the free options out there, is the paid software really worth it?

Sounds like an idea Greg.
I already have ICQ, MSN and Yahoo Messenger. Oh and Skype too (that is how we have a US telephone number wink )
And I am happy to use any of them. What else is there?
Don't mind getting another one, provided it is free.
Still ... the times you chat, are usually ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ time for me
Any input? Could any free clients work for large numbers of chatters? Does it sound like a good idea?

There could be a lot of possibilities...from simple text chatting to audio or video chat. So much we could do...

Input?

Not trying to "mutiny" on the current software or anything, just get ideas...
