His new novel The Keeper's Son , published this week, is set on the Outer Banks during WWII. It is receiving rave reviews from ocean to ocean. His best selling novel Rocket Boys was made into the movie October Sky. The Keeper's Son is the first of a trilogy about a lighthouse and Coast Guard family on the Outer Banks. Homer is also author of Torpedo Junction , the story of the World War II submarine action off the Outer Banks.
