My husband & I rented the movie "Snow Falling on Ceders." It opened showing the Portland Head, Me. but the story was really taking place in the state of Washington. The movie is very good and thought provoking. Dated in the time of the 1940-1950's around the time Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. I'm not sure why they chose an east coast lighthouse when there are so many west coast lighthouses to choose from, however, the picture of the Portland Head was very beautiful with all the snow. And by the way, the movie is well worth watching. It's probably a 2 hankie movie.
