I'll agree with that. When I took my new VCR out of the box and set it up for the first time last week after the 10+ year old one went flying out the window, it took my a good chunk of an hour to set the dang thing up and figure out how to program it. I think the older VCRs were easier to use then the lastest ones that can do everthing except go out and buy your HLs for you at your dealer.

Since the Legendary Lighthouse Series is on DVD format, I now ask myself why I ran out and purchased a new VCR just to tape it on TV which I probably won't even view as I plan on buying the series on DVD format. Huh!
