Not knowing where Sapelo Island was, I checked the mapping CD and found it to be roughly midway between Tybee Island/Savannah and St. Simons lighthouse. The Expedia provides the following info:

The ferry to Sapelo Island weaves through schools of dolphins, while people on the island tour stop to examine frog fetuses and shark sacks preserved in jars of formaldehyde and wander out to the famous turkey statue. Bring food and water.
