It seems to me the best way to help Bodie Island LH is to join and become an active member of the Outer Banks Lighthouse Society. Having been a member for some time, I've found this group to be very active locally and nationally, well organized and well informed. OBLHS is THE advocate for all the lighthouses on the Outer Banks. They have effective leadership. They seem to enjoy an excellent rapport with the National Park Service as well as the USCG. The newsletter is the best I've ever seen.

In other words, it seems to me the best course of action to help Bodie Island, Currituck or any LH's on the Outer Banks is to join OBLHS and help make it stonger and even more effective rather than start from scratch and re-invent the wheel.

What do you think?
