I found these links to some webpages which provide the history of the lighthouses along with a few photographs. Perhaps they are more well known to residents of Michigan, but they are very interesting to read about. One of the lights no longer exists-- the Saugatuck lighthouse was destroyed by a tornado in 1956. I hope this helps people here who are interested in the history of the lights and the Great Lakes.

There is also a description of each of the three lighthouses in the book Great Lakes Lighthouses Encyclopedia by Larry and Patricia Wright, which is available in many libraries.
