A side tidbit on the Tamaroa. During my last 7 years in the Coast Guard I was stationed at CG Headquarters and my assignment was to buy electronic replacement equipment and prepare the installation specifications for this equipment on quite a few classes of vessels including the Tamaroa.

The one thing I will say about the Coast Guard Cutters back then is when you went aboard the vessels they at least looked like a military ship instead of the new modern "luxury vessels".
