More lighthouses can be seen from the lantern of New London Harbor Light than from any other spot on earth.
Last fall, the New London Maritime Society
http://www.nlmaritimesociety.org/index.html took on stewardship of New London Harbor Light. The lighthouse was built 251 years ago and is the oldest lighthouse in Connecticut, the 4th oldest in North America.
The current tower was built in 1801--210 years ago.
