I did not get up close to check out the quality but the Fresnel lens is an actual limited edition of the Hereford Inlet's Fourth Order Fresnel Lens.
The base is a solid hardwood stained maple. I would assume that the shaft supporting the light bulb is brass plated steel, which is standard with lamps. The premium of course would be solid brass, which I doubt.
I also agree with Rich it is extremely expensive, but I think it would be a great present for the wife.

I wonder if this is going to be the only fresnel lens that will be used. I hate to buy it and later they come out with one I like better.

I also was wondering if they were numbered.
That would be kinda neat.
