Greydawn:
A wonderful and moving tribute to your dad! Every father should be so lucky to be thusly remembered by a son.
Your prose is very reminiscent of one of my favorites from Robert Louis Stevenson, a descendant of the Scottish lighthouse-building family and the famous author who is buried in Hawaii:
Under the wide and starry sky
dig my grave and let me lie.
Glad did I live and gladly die,
and I lay me down with a will.
This be the verse you grave for me:
"Here he lies where he longed to be,
home is the sailor, home from the sea,
and the hunter home from the hill."
I think your dad would be proud.
