Tucker's Island was home one of the first resorts and a 2 story lighthouse with a square tower centered on the roof. Built in 1868 the light served for nearly sixty years. Most of the island washed away in a storm in 1920. Tim Harrison's "Lost Lighthouses" has a series of pictures showing the collapse of the lighthouse into the ocean in 1927.
