I have only been collecting for about 2 years. I have one curio filled with HLs. There have been times when I thought about selling some to make room for more or just keeping Great lakes lights and ones that I have seen.
But then I know deep down that I don't want to part with any of them. Each one has something special about it. And I know me...I would just start all over again. Of course, costing me more than the first time.
So until I really no longer want them or desperate times call for desperate measures...they stay where they are.
To make room for my new purchases...I am contemplating putting some away and doing a rotation type thing. Put certain ones out for awhile-the others away and switch periodically.
I agree that only you and you alone will know when it is time to get rid of them!! Good Luck and please let us know how it turns out!
