ginnyanne - Your point is well taken, however, you might be the exception to the rule. After spending 8 years stationed in Washington DC and traveling to Baltimore more times then I can count, I still consider Baltimore as mid-Atlantic and not the South regardless of where the Mason-Dixon Line is. I loved the Maryland-DC-Virginia area so much so that if our children didn't live in Florida, Northern Virginia would be my 2nd retirement choice. This is my opinion after being there for those 8 years. I'm not trying to insult the State of Maryland, I'm trying to build a case for Charleston.
