William Francis O'Brien, 75, of Bradenton, died Sept. 27, 2002, at home.

There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be at a later date in Chatham, Mass. Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 5624 26th St. W., Bradenton, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Attention: Memorials, P.O. Box 21475, St. Petersburg, Fla. 33742.

Born in Boston, Mr. O'Brien came to Manatee County in 1981 from Chatham, Mass. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War and served in the Seabees as a petty officer first class builder during the Vietnam War. He was a retired carpenter from Buzzard's Bay in Massachusetts. He was a member of the American Legion in Chatham and the Harbour Lights, Tampa Chapter.

Survivors include two daughters, Priscilla O. Kukoda of Bradenton and Penny Ruddock of Chatham; two sons, Phillip, of Dennisport, Mass., and Patrick S., of Rincon, Ga.; a sister, Shirley Sevra of Boston; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
