I received my Chicago Harbor and Wind Point GLOWS this afternon. And they both are fantastic.

I especially like Wind Point becaue I grew up near the lighthouse and saw it almost daily. The pice also has windows which light up, which I also like.

On Friday and/or Saturday nights many of us teenagers would visit the light. A parking lot for the 9 hole golf course was on the cliff overlooking Lake Michigan. From the parking lot we had an unobstructed view of the lighthouse. As teenages we all referred to the location as "The Point." We would go there with our dates to watch the "submarine races."

This doesn't take too much imagination, does it! But in reality, during the war Coastal Watchers were assigned to climb to the top of the lighthouse to watch for German submarines. They never saw any. Neither did the teenagers in the late 50's.
