I was at a local dealers and checked out the new Drum Point GLOW. What should I see but the little sign under the lighthouse says Drum Point Lighthourse:confised oops spellong wrong again. I think it should be Lighthouse right?

Are you saying the HL tent card for the piece is a boo-boo? Or was this a dealer made sign?

Good eyes, Chuck.

Under the lighthouse on the cross supports is a small sign that is part of the lighthouse it is suppose to say Drum Point Lighthouse. The one I saw said Drum Point Lighthourse! It is part of the lighthourse structure so HL made a spelling mistake.

I am no great speller but I have learned to spell lighthouse since I started collecting these things.

Chuck

? should I get it? I think the # is A697

I have had it up on the main page of Harbour Lights all week, but you would have to be an eagle eye to spot it..

You are the first to announce it that I have heard...

Good eyes Chuck! I had to get mine out and take a look at it and sure enough, it's there! For a company that specializes in lighthouses, someone really goofed!!!

I wonder if this one will gain some value due to the goof? Presuming HL has caught it, I wonder if all the first run has this error, or if just some of the pieces? Is it worth picking up a piece containing the error to speculate with? Are there any out there that have the correct spelling? Will be interesting to see.

Gain value? Only if they correct it. What is a Tan Beavertail worth? Use that as a guide....well maybe, Beavertail is a Limited Edition not a giftware GLOW/Open Edition.

imho

If it was corrected, would that make the "mistake" a limited edition? (LOL)

Something to think about ...

Yes, it would make the GLOW a Limited Edition, by definition. It still would not increase it's value, unless Collectors were trying to get that variation.

GLOW's already have a small thing in common with the Limited Editions- the letter denoting which year it was made. It doesn't make it a truly limited edition, but it gives it a small thing in common. Again, no value unless Collectors make it so.

The word from Harbour Lights is that... they are aware of it and it will be that way on the first 2,000 then it be be correct on the one's produced after that..

2,000 lighthorses...

I'm so glad I decided to join this forum! smile I just finally bought my Drum Point Lighthourse. . . I mean Lighthouse. I bought it on ebay for $40 and couldn't turn it down. I opened it today and couldn't believe my eyes - it clearly read on the little sign below the lighthouse - "Drum Point Lighthourse". I couldn't believe HL's would make such a silly mistake, so I searched the forum and sure enough - more people than just me has witnessed this mistake. I love that I have all this Harbour Light and Lighthouse information at my fingertips. Thank you! smile
