If you haven't ordered Stratford Point yet and you're not on autoship or don't purchase one of your dealer's unallotted autoship pieces you should call your dealer and have them order it for you. Per HL that's the way to go this year, not to call HL to order and send to the dealer. Also don't forget to ask for the AC adapter thingie if you want that.

Great minds think alike, Sue... I checked with Harbour Lights today about the correct procedure to follow concerning getting this years Christmas lighthouse. It was on my mind since I am going to shoot an image of the AP tonight for John to put up on Harbourlights.com catalog page of it and one of the the Nantucket lightship..

And as you can see from Paul's beautiful photo, this one is a 'keeper'.

You'll be mesmerized by the blinking light.

I agree with you JOhn, Paul's pictures are always great shots. Seems its always sunny and bright in Indy with just the right amount of clouds to frame the lighthouse just right.

Thanks for the kind words, Bert, but lately it hasn't been sunny in Indy... We have had eight straight days of storms move through Indy and they say more storms are due today.. We had a tornado touch down briefly, about one and a half miles from the Midwest Harbour Lights Museum the night before last. Fortunately it didn't do a lot of damage before it went back up into the clouds.. Dave H has been getting pounded by the same group of storms just North of us in Kokomo also..

So the light in the tower's going to flash and we'll have lights in the house too? How dey do dat? Does it have feet on the bottom too?

(Bert, those are CA skies. They come packed in the box with the lights Paul uses for his photos. smile )

Dept. 56...move over!!

Now I can have a lighted house with a flashing beacon...all decked out for the holidays...AND...it's a legitimate, genuine, bona fide, authentic replica of a real lighthouse.

Stratford Point...you're coming home with me!

Sorry to hear about all the rain your getting Paul.. I guess the only blue skies in your forecast will be those your camera might be looking at. Saw all the horror of the rain and flooding on the news this morning and I don't envy you a bit. I'm told some of that rain is headed this way for tomorrow. We can use some believe it or not even after the wet Spring we had. Getting dry here in New England.

SUe, I thought those blue skies may have come from CA but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the info.

I'm really looking forward to getting this one. The pictures definitely shows the beauty of this light.

I finally took my Stratford out of the box and set it up on the TV. Put the batteries in, and loved the lit up house, beacon, and Christmas tree. Very well done except there was no man on the front lawn flexing his authority? Well. I've heard that's change since MaryAnn and my visit.
The other gripe I have is there is no on/off switch, so you got to take a battery out.

Bob, look closer for that switch. It's small and hard to see, but it's there.

Bob,

There is an on/off switch located in the trough next to where the battery cover latches. (Unless you bought one of the "seconds" at the discount dealer. . . . .

I finally got my adapter switched at the dealer for the correct one. It's a lot brighter now although with the incorrect one the lights in the house were more yellow so looked different from the lights in the tower which was kind of nice. I still have some rearranging to do so that it winds up in a more prominent place. Hopefully before Christmas!

Sue, I had the wrong adaptor too, and am waiting for the right one to arrive by mail. So I hope the right one does make it brighter.

I found the perfect place to display Stratford (for me) for Christmas ( this & Hereford are the only Christmas HL's I have).
Because it curves, it fits supurbly on an end table at the base of a lamp that has a round base. I usually put Christmas wreaths around the base of the lamps...I like this SO much better!

Hereford sits on the other end table. The Dept. 56 nautical NE village resides in the dining room.

Then my Fresnel lenses are lined up on the mantel w/ small snow-topped garland and tiny white lights. The sm. Fresnel ornaments are on the tree.

I love watching the beacon flash on & off. It's very realistic for beacons in general although I don't happen to know what the flash pattern is suppose to be for Stratford Point.

With the room lit by nothing but the Christmas tree lights, the Fresnel lenses and that little lighthouse beacon flashing, it's very mesmerizing.

I love the Stratford piece. Have bought three of them ...... one going to my parents and one to my daughter as Christmas gifts. The one I have is set up on a table in my foyer. Love to see it lit up. smile smile

Definitely need to have an AC/DC adapter though .... batteries don't last long!! frown

Merry Christmas, Dan
