Right there on that page it says... This model is lighted and stands approximately 8" tall with a base 4" in diameter.

If you go to the new 4th Order Fresnel Page and click on the image, you'll see a much larger version that shows more detail. [This message has been edited by JChidester (edited 06-01-2002).]

This one looks more impressive than all the others so far. I have already called my dealer, he's ordered 2. I don't want to be on the wish list again. By the way I have it on good authority that it's Aug. 2002 not Aug. 2, 2002. That's OK I can live with it as long as I'm not on the wish list again. Nice work HL, Chuck ------------------ bigdragon

The Fourth Order Fresnel is another welcome piece from Harbour Lights. I believe the idea of producing these lenses came from the Collector Forum, many moons ago. This is just another fine example of Harbour Lights listening to the collectors and giving them want they ask for. The CF makes it happen. You make the CF happen. Your posts are important to keeping this communication tool operating at peak efficiency. Keep those thoughts and ideas coming! Bob P.S. - The 4th order Fresnel will sell out in record time. 7,500 Edition
Haven’t seen that high of production of a H.L. in a while. It Is almost twice as many as the first Fresnel. If this one does well? Will the next one be a 9,500 edition?

I saw the same thing and thought here we go again... I personally wish that Harbour lights wouldn't go over 6500 edition size ever again. I hope this is a one time thing and not a trend. I think that if the edition size would never have gone over the 5500 number, we would see a whole different collectible market today for Harbour Lights.

Well if previous lenses sold out at 4,000 and 5,000 I suppose you can't blame HL for increasing the numbers on this one. Hopefully the increase to 7,500 isn't too much.

Looks like they`re sticking their toes in the ocean of marketing again. No one has mentioned the $99 price on it. Thats over 20% higher than the first one. terry

They sold out at 4,000 but 7,500 is quite a jump... the stores don't need extra stock at this time in fact they need to see product coming in and going out immediately not just sitting on their shelves. I just hope these is a one time thing... been there, got the 9500 editions size t-shirt...
I am sure that the added price is to cover added production costs of it being lighted and what looks to be a lot more detailed...

Here is the real lens... With all the bulleyes in this one, maybe they have decided to price on a per bullseye basis? I sure hope the 7500 edition doesn't backfire. I wonder if the various lenses so far have been bought by (1) dedicated collectors (2) lighthouse lovers that don't really collect or (3) casual purchasers? I am betting 3 is out, and 2 represents a very small percentage of purchasers. We all appreciate the beauty of the lens and its many different sizes and styles. However, we are also pretty dedicated collectors. At $99 this will not be a casual purchase by someone not a dedicated collector I am guessing. Dave

With an edition size of 7500 and the price at $99.00, I think this one will at least make the display cases in the stores - unlike the previous ones! I hope it will be a big seller and not just gather dust on the store shelves like so many other pieces! I would think that since the first 3 sold so well, that's why the editon size was increased. It should sell out very fast even at that price! Most people never got to see the first 3 on display in stores. Maybe this will get more people interested in these beautiful lenses for future purchases!

This one is a beaut!!! But I'll agree with Paul. I hope that HL hasn't gone too far, especially after releasing the 2 earlier this year. Like bright eyes said: "only time will tell". Dave
