Do we need to reserve the Christmas piece this year ? last year HL sent the reservation /redemption slips to each member and then sent out autoship orders to dealers before shiping the reserved pieces, so you had a regular autoship at a dealer and reserved one you were now over commited to more pieces than you intended. Is Christmas 99' being distributed the same way ?

John, since your the Shell answer man I'll let you put on your plaid Sherlock Holmes hat (which doubles as a hunting hat when in Wisconsin) and hopefuly see if you can get to the bottom of this.

I spoke with Amy at the Collectors Society last week. She told me that this piece will be handled the same as Old Field Point, i.e., dealers on auto-ship will receive their auto-ship pieces. She did go on to say that many dealers like it when collectors go ahead and order their pieces via the redemption slip anyway because then they get another piece to sell (assuming you don't want two of them).

I'm going to call my regular dealer, verify that I'll get my usual piece, then ask her if she wants me to order another, with the understanding that I may not want the second piece for myself.

Kim says if you get an auto-ship from a dealer on a regular basis, you do NOT need to turn in a reservation form for Christmas '99.

The autoship dealers will receive whatever their autoship count is then the remainder will be used to fill orders from dealers.

The edition size is 10,000 and about 2200 pieces go to fill auto-ship orders.
