Old St. Augustine FL retired on April 1, 2002.
This means that the full production run of 4,000 pieces has been sold to retail dealers.
However, not all of the 4,000 has been manufactured yet or (obviously) shipped to dealers. It might be several months before production and shipping has been completed.
Dealers whose orders were placed before April 1 will receive theirs after the production run is complete.
I don't have a number that has been shipped so far.
If you plan to purchase an Old St. Augustine FL, and do not have one reserved at your favorite dealer, now is the time to purchase one.

Well this original message was posted a few hours ago and I thought there would be lots of replies by now.
It's been quite a while since Harbour Lights has had a 'natural retirement' - the 5th Order Fresnel, if my memory serves me. It also was a 4,000 edition piece.

Thanks for the update John! It is amazing that some of the pieces in the past few years didn't sell out right away or for that matter are still on the shelves! There are many beautiful pieces at reasonable prices that are still in stock in many stores. I guess it goes back to the problem of too many pieces and no more room in the curios for many people. I look at Sanibel a few years ago with what - 9500? It retired before they were all at the dealers. I guess it's just a sign of the times. Sorry to rehash this again!

It's good to hear that Old St. A's is a hit. After people read this post, there will probably be a few people trying to locate an extra or two which might be availible at some dealer in the middle of Podunk. It could push the price up on the secondary market. Bought one, happy with one, kept one, displaying one... It's a great HL folks! If you don't have it, you had better track one down while you can. Fantastic news. It's always great to see the Florida lighthouses retire so quickly. We may not know how to vote or count but we sure have popular lighthouses.

I have just one, Randy. My HL budget is high enough without purchasing duplicates. If I was a speculator of HLs, I would have bought a couple of extras. One is fine and it's on display. Bob [This message has been edited by Bob M (edited 04-07-2002).]

Talk about hot, it retired so fast that they even shipped the web page copy. I tried a product search and it came back "sorry doesn't exist". John have they ever retired a piece before you had it fully into the data base on the web site? I know where there are a couple near here and I just may get one now if they are that hot. I don't have the copy yet - been awaiting it.
Since Aug 98 when the HarbourLights.com site opened, I don't believe we've had a situation where a piece retired before the catalog page was set up.

I wasn't planning to get one until Fathers Day. I guess I'll have to use my tax refund and get on now. Probably will be hard to find by June. Glad to see a new release go so fast.

It's a "win-win" situation for Harbour Lights and the collectors. Increased rarity equals increased collectibility equals increased value. Besides that, it really is a wonderful piece! Bob

I had almost forgotten about him, Terry. Maybe he switched to selling used cars down at the Iron Mine. Bob

I picked up my "Old St. Augustine" on Monday 4/15. It is really a great looking piece. I have the GLOW and was undecided about getting this LE, but I'm glad I did. JoanieO

I got mine yesterday! I went into a store looking for the lens and saw St. Auggie sitting on the shelf. Knowing it wouldn't be around long, I bought one immediately! (It was my wife's anniversary gift to me! 13 years today!)
This is one excellent piece! I can't believe this one will be in stock at many stores for very long!

I going down to my dealer tomorrow night to pick mine up - Can't hardly wait after hearing all the rave reviews.
Still haven't even seen a photo of it, did I miss it somewhere on the site?

FL light - have you tried searching for the OSA piece on the new HL Dealer Retired at Retail seach site? Don't give up on finding one at retail so easily. If no dealers in your area have them, go to the dealer listing for a state far from Florida. Work those dealers to see who might have one. Some dealers list their email addresses here, so you could email some. Or simply take a chance and reach out by phone. Good luck, Dave

I just picked up an OSA last week and love it. As I went back to the same store this weekend I was told by the dealer, who had 2 OSA left, that once she sold one more she was going to double the price of the one she had left. I guess this is a matter of supply and demand.

I would find a new dealer! I have three dealers that I use, they each have their strong points in what they have available. However, NONE of them would think of raising the price like the dealer you mentioned. I know 2 places where you can get it list if your dealer hikes their prices on you. I've only bought one piece from this dealer, but I won't be going back. I have found another dealer that keeps their list price regardless if a piece is retired or not. But I have seen 3 stores in Tampa that has OSA.

Dealers whose orders were placed before April 1 will receive theirs after the production run is complete. Do I understand this correctly that this piece did not auto-ship but had to be specifically ordered by a dealer? I didn't see this one today at my dealer.

Finally got my OSA today. Great detail, and as has been noted, a large footprint. Is there a trend here, my Point Iroquois is "super sized" also. Great Piece. It doesn't really fit my collection, but I'm glad all of your comments convinced me I should get it. Roger

Is it me or does it seem that all of the lights this year have a large foot print? Chuck PS: Thanks to everyone, last Nov. I wouldn't have known what a foot print was let alone if it was large or small. Many thanks ya'all.
