I see that the forums will shortly have 500 registered participants. Has there been any thought as to how this momentous event will be celebrated? I have some suggestions.

1. Give registrant #500 (I'll call him/her X) instant wacko status.
2. Give X a load of goodies from the daily contests.
3. Arrange an interview by Barbara Walters.
4. Donate a Coquille River LE in X's name to the Beckman HL meseum.

Any of these would be great but I am partial to #4. - Any other ideas?

The 500th registrant earns the right to bring doughnuts for the rest of us.

I'd love a Boston Creme. Haven't had one in years. I might re-register just so I would have an excuse to buy one, or maybe 42 dozen.

Maybe the 500th should stand a round for the "good old 499 boys and girls".

Greedy bunch, aren't we?

Joanne,

42 dozen would be 504 doughnuts. I have no problem eating more than one. Make mine a Boston Creme as well and for the second a good ole' American jelly doughnut would be nice. But which one do I have first?? Decisions, decisions!!

I think the 500th registered member should get a statue. Just like Mark McGwire did last week for his 500th. He/She should how a press conference.

Instant Wacko status would be my vote.

I see we made it to 500. I like Tim's idea and I'm ready for my doughnut! Now, if John will once again weed out the inactives, we could celebrate this milestone more than once. Next time we could have Danish, then croissants, then...

More coffee, anyone?

Gained 10 pounds just reading these posts!
Congratulations #500 whoever you are! Incidently, having a few extra folks over tomorrow (16) so maybe you should order an extra couple dozen!

My original registration the other day may have been the one that pushed the registered members count to 500. I don’t believe there is any way to know for sure. However, I messed up my email address and John had to help get things corrected. You may have noticed the count go down by one for a time on Thursday. I assume that was a result of the fix. I think we will need a ruling on which registration officially hit the much anticipated 500 mark. Looks like there could be a lot of donuts riding on that decision!

If it was me, I hate to have my first post bring such disappointing news, but donuts for all is probably out of the question. Sorry. I can just feel 499 mouths drying up!

What's this headstone and Wacko Statue stuff all about? What does a Wacko look like anyway?

Glad to be part of the collector forums. McGwire and Harbour Lights Forum at 500 in the same week! That is definitely good company.

You're da man, Mapper -- #500. I deleted your original record and you re-registered -- but for history and all time, you'll be the 'Donut Man' ["Time to make the donuts"]

You did know that those 'donuts' we're referring to are VIRTUAL DONUTS, didn't you?

Guess we'll have to fix you up with a 'signature' in the shape of a donut - anybody have the art?

Other than that honor, there's no reward for hitting the 500 mark.

John,

Is a "Virtual Doughnut" anything like a "Cookie"?

Mombo -

I thought yellow donuts were okay, just not yellow snow. Or are yellow donuts make from yellow snow? Yech!

A mind wasted due to the late night hour - going to bed now to dream of chocolate chip cookies.

Love to all -
Jim

I did not know that you had virtual donuts in mind. I don't think some of the other members did either. It's hard to believe a virtual donut could be so much anticipated.

They do have a few advantages:
0 Calories
0 Grams of Fat
Any flavor you can IMAGINE
And my favorite, virtually no cost which means more Harbour Lights!

Art, where do I find that spinning virtual donut? Actually, what Mapper had in mind was a spinning globe, but I guess I need to keep up my end of this virtual deal for a while.

Thanks for the help Art. It took me a while to establish file space with my ISP and learn how to use it.

A virtual donut for all members!

Well Allen - how about something for you as well as somthing for us?

As the donut spins, the other side comes into view as a globe?

Kind of like the spinning icon on MSIE.

Anybody help Allen with that?
