What's up with Tarrytown? Is there a delay on it?

Standing order for Tarrytown began on Tuesday, August 31.

Fisgard and Coruna Spain are also in the shipping channels from Harbour Lights to dealers.

I was talking with a dealer in NJ today and they have received the invoice for Tarrytown this weeek. They expect the piece itself next week.

Bob,
They have to travel down the west coast, thru the ditch, then up the gulf west coast, stop in New Orleans to transfer to the mule train to head to Art's, then go all the way around Florida, and finally up the east coast. If they stop to render honors to each light as they pass, probably will reach northeast by Thanksgiving or so......

I was just thinking today that it is not always great to live in or near a large city when it comes to collectibles. I have been waiting for my local "authorized dealer" to receive ANY of the new summer releases. As of this date 3 local dealers have not received any new items in the past 3 months. All are in the Detroit Mi. area.

However several weeks ago while on vacation in the north of Mi. I found a total of 5 "authorized dealers" and other small stores that carry HL items and 3 of these stores had ALL of the latest releases. These stores are in very small cities. I guess I need to get out of the big city more often or move closer to these places.

(I did not buy any of the new items because I found several retired pieces I wanted more. A trade off which I can live with.)

I was just curious about shipping priorities to dealers. A wondering mind with no place to wander.

It's also odd what shows up when. On the West Coast we were waiting and waiting for Grays Harbor. I went to Baltimore and found it in a shop there. Two weeks later I was in Westport WA, where the lighthouse is, and they still didn't have it! They were very upset that it went elsewhere first.

Not all Harbour Lights dealers are on "Auto-Ship". Auto-ship dealers receive at least 2 of each new item. These are filled from the first 2200 or so pieces. After auto-ships are filled, then orders are filled from the various dealers.

The initial production order is usually 3-4,000. If the first production order does not meet all the orders received, then another production order is placed -- but production & delivery on the second order may take several weeks.

Just curious. For some reason we have Oak Island on our HL spreadsheet, with a release date in 1999. Did a search and found the following reference:

"Kim Fuller stopped by the booth this afternoon and noted that Jim had listed "Oak
Island NC" in his book as a 1999 piece. Kim Andrews confirms it is hoped to make it this year -- if not early in 2000. This should make the NC light collector happy to have HL complete all the ocean lights in North Carolina."

Any idea as to the status of this HL lighthouse?

Received a call from my dealer and the East Quoddy that I ordered is in. Will go pick it up this evening or tomorrow morning. Looking forward to actually seeing this one as I've heard it's quite nice.

Just spoke with Kate at headquarters. Coquille GLOW, South Bass, and Panama set are just starting to be autoshipped. Depending on where you are, expect to see them within a week or 2.

Isn't that special! It won't be much longer when we'll be able to kick up our heels and say, "By the way...would you like to see my Coquille River HL?"

I apologize to those Coquille LE owners who weren't in favor of the beloved Glow, but finally us less fortunate collectors will have Coquille River in our display.

I give two thumbs up to HL for making this piece!

Good news Bill, thanks for the update. I appreciate your effort in getting the info out. I'll be camped on the doorstep of my dealer each morning until they arrives.
