We picked up our Old Point Comfort, VA on Friday 4/14 in Seattle - it's wonderful! Does anyone else have theirs?

Yes, I do and I agree it's a great addition to HL's line.

....I'm still waiting for mine ...maybe it'll get here this week. I think that the Lighthouse Depot sent it by Pony Express and somewhere along the way it was ambushed....

Old Point Comfort has arrived in Delaware. Picked mine up this past Friday. In my opinion it is a "WOW" and one of the better 2000 introductions to date.

Okay, okay... Lonnie, Brent, Weasel, Firstmate and all the rest. Your posts regarding Old Point Comfort, VA got me curious. So I signed onto HL's website to view this light. For whatever reason, I didn't pay it much attention before. Since then, the drool function has started, and like Pavlov's dog, I was instantly placed in the "got to have it mode." I called my local dealer and placed a hold on the one they have. I now must explain to my dear wife why I had to yet, purchase another light. Have you any good excuses I could use?

I picked up my Old Point Comfort # 588 in Delaware also last Friday and it truly a WOW piece. Seems like Harbour Lights is getting better with each piece they make. I love the pink blossoms on the trees. A very detailed piece.

My new Old Point Comfort followed me home this evening from my dealer here is Jacksonville, FL. I was WOWED by the detail on Haig Point and I must say that OPC is every bit as detailed if not more. Saint Paul said it best when he said "The best is yet to come". Can it get any better?

I saw Old Point Comfort today as I was picking up my Oak Island. It's as detailed as Haig Point and upon lifting it, I found it to be fairly massive and also deceptively large. A truly beautiful piece with 2 incredibly colorful "flowering" trees behind the tower. It has now moved up to the #2 spot on my "gotta-get-it" list right after Ft. Jefferson comes out!

Tim,
How about "I have an odd number of HL and BY says they should always be in pairs?" Or, if you have an even number try to convince her that this is bad luck. Look thru the old Humor posts- Art and others had some real good ones under the "you might be a wacko..." heading. Good luck,
Dave

Hey Tim.....tell your wife that once you saw those Crepe Myrtles in bloom, in the front yard, that you simply couldn't resist...now that its spring. A simple case of "spring fever"....

Thanks Dave and Brent... I'll give it a try. Gee... maybe I could just hide it behind some of the other pieces I have. Or maybe... I should just fess up and buy my wife a piece of jewelry, or a new dress. I guess in this case, "What's good for the goose..." LOL

I picked up my Old Point Comfort, VA light today, and it's mine... all mine! It is absolutely gorgeous with very fine detail. It reminds me of my early days in the USCG when I use to pass by this light often while patroling on the bay. It is a definite "must have" in my book. Thanks for the tip everyone!

Paul... I just may give that one a try. LOL

...thats a great idea, Paul! Tim, go out and buy your wife an HL, get another one of your favorites, tell her that its her's and..."wa-la" you've gotten TWO HL's for the price of one butt-chew'in!

Thanks Brent for the suggestion. If after this you don't see any post from me, you may assume my dearest has removed my on-line priviliges for a while. LOL

I can actually say that Old Point Comfort took my breath away. I was so impressed with it's detail and beauty. And, since you mentioned the crepe myrtle, they are the same color as my crepe myrtle when it's in bloom.

LOL Sean. Well, I must admit - I went out and bought her a figurine. She loves and collects porcelain hummingbirds. Hers are more expensive than the LE HLs... ahem, er...ah... actually less expensive than the retired pieces I have been collecting as of late. I guess it comes down to, "What's good for the gander, is good for the goose" or something like that. In anycase, I'm still here!

Just retrieved my Old Point Comfort from my dealers yesterday. The detail is unbelievable. I just can't stop looking at it! It seems each one is better than the last!

I love the detail and the colors. This is my second LE after Cape Florida. Since I have so few, the choices are so difficult. This one however stood out from the rest!

Hadn't seen this once until Rosemont and knew I had to have it. Crepe myrtles, don't think we have them up here, thought they were lilacs. Whatever, they're blooming here at my place tonight. Just so it didn't get lonely on the ride home I decided to pick up Point Judith to keep it company and a print of "Seaway Trail Lights of Lake Ontario and Eastern Lake Erie" and a tee shirt featuring a 1920 post card scene of one of the former lights at Oswego. Hey, today was the last day to use my dealer's 10% off stuff coupon!
