Or how about lower.....

My piece finally arrived today...... looks good, but I can't find that darn seahorse. Anybody spot him(her)?

I think the flag is the most interesting element on this piece. Since the number of actual pieces will be unknown as some are destined to be destroyed (as previously mentioned), there is no edition number on the flag, only the piece number. I don't think the highest piece number out there will tell us collectors how many are in existence as I have a feeling that there will be numbers below the highest known number that will be destroyed. Only time will tell what happens with this piece.... For what its worth, in case someone is taking notes and trying to figure out what is the highest number, mine is higher than Sandy's with No. 91.

If you look at the label on the bottom, you will also see, "Limited Edition #". I think the number of the actually piece was suppose to be written on the bottom and not "squeezed in" on the flag of the piece, as it appears that there is not enough room on the flag for it to be written in. Looks like a little Chinese mix-up....

"Thank You" to all who made this piece possible!

Seahorse has been spotted AND posted already in that thread! Bob Taylor has far too much time on his hands. . . .

Sandy

P.S. I've been unable to confirm Bob's sighting and look to others to confirm it or to show another location.

Rich,

Trying to figure how many were released from the production run. Why the mystery?

I thought we had heard from Tony C. along time ago in a distant galaxy when this whole program started that the production run was going to be 495 and that if all of them weren't sent to collectors, based on the requirements, that the remaining pieces, were to be destroyed.

Perhaps things have changed since the beginning of the program, but that is what I have written down. Perhaps it was based on "here-say", but I could have sworn it was from the man inside. Will be doing some research on this one....

Even at 495, I can't see that many pieces going out, based on the tight requirements.... I think the "real" inside knowledge of this special reward program is going to be a "mystery".

I hear a "smashing" sound coming....

I trust and hope autoship No. 1 was saved!

I thought Tony said back in January when they extended the offer that they had 108 people submit for the offer at that time.

There were 105 originally who qualified before the extension, that doesn't tell you how many after that were added to the total..

So the thread Paul pointed us to also says that the collectors that participated in the original program would receive several rewards.

I have not received my Jordan Point yet. Do any of the folks that have received wish to share the "rewards" if any received with the HL?

My reward was that I got the piece after I bitched so much about this offering.

I think the rewards where the two drawing which by the way I did not win.

Since I bought enough for two Jordan Points, a single digit piece would have been a nice reward !!!

Maybe Loon, if any of the single digit auto ships didn't redeem their number, you could have gotten a single digit Jordan Pt. Sorry you didn't. Maybe some did tho ??

I guess we'll have to wait and see if any low number reports come in on this thread from people who got a low mumber that wasn't their auto ship number.

As I read the rules, I think it's possible. And no real low numbers need be destroyed.

Sandy - I'm just adding some intrigue to this topic. If everybody knew everyone else's numbers then it would be no fun. There is no way that you are going to be able to guess how many collectors redeemed because of the double redemptions by some collectors. Besides, knowing the highest number does not mean that many were released. If they are pulled at random if your not on autoship then any number could be pulled from #1 to #XXX.

I was one of the original 105 who qualified BEFORE the extension, yet my piece was numbered 188 ? ? ? and I got no rewards, etc. in the box. Needless to say I am not happy about how this promotion was handled

I believe the "rewards" everyone is talking about were the drawings for the gold piece and Open Edition piece. If you were on autoship you received another "reward" by getting your autoship number. If you weren't on autoship you probably received a randon number since many of the lower numbers are autoship. Even though you purchased the 6 required pieces to be eligible for a "free" Jordan Point, HLs didn't have any obligation to give you a free "reward" but, they did. I'm just thankful to HLs for getting a very very very limited edition as every one else should be that received their Jordan Point. That's "reward" enough for me.

I received my Jordan Point today,(Friday) and it is the same number as the six HL's I purchased so I don't think the numbers are really random.

I too received mine on Friday with the same number, 92, as the pieces I bought. After all, they did ask for the numbers on the piece we bought.

I received my two Jordan Points on Friday and got my autoship #36 and the second one was #190. My paperwork for my second piece (#190) was done at the deadline.

Rich, your explanation makes sense. My initial reaction was finding two something else's in the box with the Jordan Point, like a thumbnail...

I am content with that explanation. I received my Jordan Point in Friday's mail, but now can not remember the number, but think it was something like 148 or 149.

Have not found the seahorse yet. Jordan Point reminds me of the pepper shakers lights we saw in Canada.

Received our two Jordan Points Monday.

Numbers 147 and 148

Interestingly, I submited one redemption form in Novmeber 2009 and the second was received by HL on the deadline day literally.

I was one of the 105 before the extension and I got #191!!! Not happy with that high number since I had mine in, in the middle of November. THE NUMBER SYSTEM WAS VERY UNFAIR!!!

When it comes to Jordan Point numbers, I believe the first 100 or so were saved for "Autoship" folks, so that those folks could have the opportunity to have matching numbers (if they requested so). This was discussed somewhere or in a musings or something after all the "griping", phone calls, etc. from collectors about the initial criteria of how the promotion was to be handled.....

If not all the folks who has an autoship number don't redeem for their particular number (or requested their autoship number) then those "unclaimed" numbers, including some single digit pieces "may" possible disappear....

.... as I stated before, all of the "inner" workings regarding this promotion will probably never be released and will become a mystery!

Due to the limitations placed on this piece, if you have a Jordan Point in your possession, be greatful that you actual received one! ...remember the Bailey's Harbor Range Lights, WI 2-piece set (HL674).

Christopher,
The Bailey's Harbor Range Light set story is unknown to me. It was before I started collecting and I really don't know what the "Regional Events" or "In-Store Events" were all about. Being a "left-coastie" I am always interested to know what the "right-coast" was up to in the Golden days of Harbor Lights. It seems we missed a lot of fun and curious happenings. My curiosity is piqued, so tell me about Bailey's and any other "stories" you care to share. laugh

The Bailey set of 2-pieces were a special limited edition released in conjunction with the Door County Maritime festival in Wisconsin, back in 2005. Only 500 were produced (a very small quantity for that time-frame). Initially they were fairly easy to obtain, and then they became harder to get as more and more folks learned about them. Both pieces are slightly larger than LLOM. Very nicely done.

See,
[url= http://www.harbourlights.com/catalog/2004/bailey%27s%20harbor_range.htm Bailey's Harbor Range Lights (Harbour Lights Website)[/url] HL674

Perhaps Paul, Dave, or someone else who lives in the Midwest, or who attended the Door County events could chime in.

The following link has some pictures from the event, 5/16/04, which included a fish boil.. Collectors lined up a got their piece that they had purchased, one per collector, before the start of the rest of the event. After everybody at the event had gone through and got their one Bailey's Harbor low numbered hand touched event piece, the rest of the 500 made were offered to collectors.

A local store, Audrey M. Off Gallery/ Framing in Sturgeon Bay, WI handled the exclusive event piece and had sold some to other customers not able to attend the event. It was basically sold out by the end of the day.

I think I still have an extra on the shelf in the closet that I had totally forgot about for years until we recently re-did all of our closets...

Pics of the event

The two lights are made as separate pieces that fit together when displayed if you want..

The paint proof set of Baileys Harbor had been auctioned off earlier, 3/20/04, at the St. Augustine Regional for $1000.00.. The funds went to the St. Augustine Lighthouse Fund..

Christopher and Paul, Thanks so much for the history and the links on the Bailey's Harbor Range Lights. The Events themselves sound like lots of fun and a great enhancement to collecting, if any more be needed than these wonderful replicas! Todays collectors don't have these events to look forward to. What a shame!

We occasionally will get together in the future I am sure.. Un-official Regionals as it were, if nothing else there are group trips, like the NELL trips and others..

I hesitate to add to this Jordan Point thread with info about the Bailey's Harbor event and range light piece, but will add a quick link. We can take this discussion to another thread in the events section if you want to dig in some more, but the Door County event was the first collector driven regional event. Here is the thread announcing the gathering

My Jordon Point (recieved originally - not fire sale) is #60...and yes I was pleased to receive it.

Re: Bailey's Harbor. I attended the event and picked up a few extras (#'s 123 & 300...no you can't have my 'low # hand painted piece) If you need this piece please contact me. Perhaps I should post in Trading Post, as I several dup's of low production or hard to find pieces.

Ordered a Jordan Point from the Harbour Lights sale at LHD and got #412. Looks like the number made must of been 500.
