Anyone else get this recent mailing from Danbury Mint offering a Lighthouse Christmas Tree?

Described as 17.5" tall, total of 19 miniature lighted lighthouses around the tree as well as other nautical symbols. The entire tree is cold cast porcelain. It arrives ready to display with all the items in place. Price $180 + $15 shipping or five installments of $36.

Among the lighthouses mentioned or shown: West Quoddy, Ponce de Leon, SE Block Island, Cape Hatteras, East Brother, Split Rock, Diamond Head, Old Point Loma, St. George's Reef, Admiralty Head, New London Ledge, and (perhaps) Point Vicente. Note the tree-topper is a lantern room and the base features a ships wheel.

From the photos it looks very nice.

Their site www.danburymint.com is under construction.

John, I have the one you have pictured as well as another one they produced. I think they are very much worth the money. I purchased both last year and had them for Christmas of '99.

When you buy one then they send you a card to get the other, a matching set with different Lights on it

Guess I'll need to put this on the hint list for Christmas 2000.

Yes....I received the mailing just the other day and it really looks nice. Since I've not purchased one in the past its good to hear what the others have said about it.

I received an ad in the mail also. I got an ad last year and debated about buying it. Now that they have two, I must get the matching set! Thanks for the posting, I assumed the recent flyer I received was a copy from last years model!

Non-HL related lighthouse products are not allowed in my collection.

This is the Brady lighthouse Christmas tree! Three sets of HL ornaments with sea shells and seahorses etc.

BTW I guess this means I was the first to wish everybody a Merry Christmas for the year 2000 and that the new Millennium and the Turn of the Century are right around the corner!

I am a lighthouse lover as much as any guy in this place...I even have a few Danbury pieces. But that picture of the abomination at the top of this thread! Well I'll be nice...lets just say that it has no appeal to me whatever.

Last year we purchased the tree you have pictured above and enjoy it very much. We did not buy the second one that was offered. I believe that Danbury mint did a nice job with this piece and it's neat that the lights go on in the lanternrooms.
