Here is a gift for Ladybug. Those of us who attended the reunion, as well as many who didn't, are aware of the efforts that Darlene contributed to the compilation of the fabulous scrapbook that was presented to the Youngers. She, along with her elves, furnished us "rookies" with many supplies as well as advice. Without Darlene's help there would have been no scrapbook.

As we did much to deplete her cache of supplies here is a gift certificate to help replenish them.

Merry Christmas and happy shopping Ladybug at Scrapbugs!

MERRY CHRISTMAS JOHN
& HAPPY NEW YEAR

This year I knew that you would want a nice digital camera so I picked one out for you.
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_product_lobbypage.asp?l=1&p=16&bc=3 &product=714

Since you don’t live near the coast of Maine I thought that you don’t often get fresh Maine lobster to eat. You may order from the following link (check it out – I like the home page design) and have it billed to my account.

For some time now Randall Ronne has been hoping for Harbour Lights to produce a better box for their product. He'd like one that stays shut and one that helps to cushion the lights without those nasty foam inserts, annoying peanuts and bubble wrap.

I think Randall, you'll find this one to be the purrfect box!

Merry Christmas!

We all know that Randy would be hard to buy for (he surely doesn't need anything GOLD or SILVER). So I searched long and hard for that perfect accessory item. Merry Christmas Randy!!!

Merry Christmas Ron! I know how much you like those lighthouse cookies so I thought I would get you everything you needed to make a batch up anytime you and MaryJane feel the urge to snack on something sweet!

Lighthouse cookie cutters from the Chesapeake Chapter:

Something to store those cookies in:

And of course the recipe:

Hope you enjoy your Christmas treats!

Hi Ruthie (aka MrsTLC),

I thought you and Terry should travel in style while visiting all those lighthouses. http://winnebagomotorhomes.com/motor_homes.html

And to capture all your lighthouse memories: http://www.royalcamera.com/sondscybdigc.html

Then you need this to share all those memories with us: http://www.royalcamera.com/ibmthiniser1.html

Have fun and a very Merry Christmas.

Since our wonderful friend Derith loves to travel. We thought that we would get her a special "travel" Christmas package!

We felt that the first gift should be better luggage - the "Barbie" size suitcase and color just don't seem to fit. So we went luggage shopping and came up with: http://www.luggageonline.com/shop_product.cfm?BRANDID=1&CID=124&STYLENUM=724101& PRODUCTID=1177 and http://www.luggageonline.com/shop_product.cfm?BRANDID=1&CID=124&STYLENUM=724102& PRODUCTID=1178 and http://www.luggageonline.com/shop_product.cfm?BRANDID=1&CID=124&STYLENUM=724015& PRODUCTID=1175

Of course if she is going to be travelling, she will need film to take pictures of lighthouses! And being that we are from Rochester, we support our local company. So a fresh supply of film from http://www.kodak.com/cgi-bin/webCatalog.pl?section=&cc=US&lc=en&product=KODAK+GOLD+Fil ms will be included.

Next she has to have a place to go….so we need airline tickets. Not sure of the dates or the exact locations, so we are giving her a gift certificate to www.orbitz.com … hey this is virtual so even if they don't provide gift certificates, we are buying one worth $5,000.

Of course, she deserves to travel in style so wherever she travels she will be able to rent (upon availability) a http://www2.hertz.com/fl eet/guide/resul...car=108&count=1

We figured that we would give her as many Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast overnights as we could find. Now remember, these trips do not have to be all at one time. She can go back home and do laundry and then head out again.

Her Bed & Breakfast overnights include two nights at each the following:

East Brothers Lighthouse in the San Francisco Room. http://www.ebls.org/rooms/sfroom.htm
Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast (opposite Coquille) in the Gray Whale Room with the view of Coquille Lighthouse! http://www.lighthouselodging.com/acc.html
One of her favorite lighthouses - Haceta Head - where she will stay in the Lightkeepers Room with the light keeping her company all night. http://www.hecetalighthouse.com/TheRooms.html
The Lighthouse Retreat in Vancouver. http://www.lighthouseretreat.com
Big Bay Lighthouse. http://www.lighthousebandb.com/
Door County Lighthouse Inn. http://www.dclighthouseinn.com/
Prince Edward Island, Canada. http://www.peisland.com/westpoint/suites.htm
Ocracoke Island, North Carolina. http://www.thecovebb.com/
Quirpin Island Lighthouse in Newfoundland, Canada. http://www.linkumtours.com/Default.htm
Isle Au Haut, Maine. http://www.keepershouse.com/

Saugerties, New York (where she might have a few Wacko guests - us, Jim Johnson, Mombo, Sonic, and maybe a few others). http://www.saugertieslighthouse.com/enter/bb.html

Most of all we hope that Derith and her family have a lifetime of Friendship, Love, Peace, and Health.

Have a Merry Christmas Derith!! We will be seeing you soon!

Love,

Patty & Mike

I've had a busy week at work, so I never got here to pick someone for this gift exchange until now...Looks like Mombo went and bought gifts for all of the people that were left to buy a gift for - I thought there were still 3 shopping days left til Christmas,

Sorry, U2 is not playing anywhere I can find on New Year's Eve but we'll invite Bono & Co. to join us here http://www.12travel.co.uk/ie/accommodation/castles/index.html . We'll do the tour and get them to play acoustic after dinner.

From Maureen:

Quote:
Torch's present is wrapped in red, white and blue because he is our 9/11 hero for coming to save the day for multiple radio stations.

For the first part of his gift.....I would like to hold a Baltimore Reunion Rerun! We will all gather in October 2002 and do everything exactly the same way we did it in 2001. Especially Saturday night dinner with the Tampa Club...
http://www.mccormickandschmicks.com/index.cfm

That way Tim and his wife can come and meet all the people they were looking forward to meeting and we can finally meet them! Don't forget to pack your t-shirts and parkas as the weather can change in seconds.

Upon their return home, Tim and his wife will find a beautiful television awaiting them. I used my "best" judgment and decided on this little beauty....

Enjoy! Wishing you and your loved ones the very best always!

Seems Mike and Patty are mighty generous with their gifts...and fortunate ME, I am the one discovering all the places and experiences I will have with the many items in my gift package. I know it will be a wonderful trip!

New luggage, I'll miss the Barbie Doll suitcase, but will adjust nicely to something new.

Orbitz always has great flights and Hertz is my choice of rental cars.

The lighthouse bed and breakfasts are my favorite places. I think I'll enjoy the Heceta Head one best, but the others are terrific as well.

Most of all I thank you for the good holiday wishes. So far, our time is going too quickly, as we are enjoying our two daughters, my mother and aunt and each other. We look forward to visiting with our grandtwins as soon as their time with their Dad is over. God has been so good to us and has seen us thru a great deal this past year.

Thank you Mike and Patty and we are looking forward to seeing you in January.
Derith

Well, I have finally finished up my virtual shopping for Patty & Mike (Kaiz). I have pretty much known what my plan was all along, but I gotta tell you, the virtual malls have been absolutely maxed to capacity when I have been on-line, making it difficult to finalize my purchases.

John gave us a very generous allowance to shop with, and having worked for the government for too many years, I believe in using up your alloted budget, which I have tried to do. My gifts to Patty & Mike do revolve around our favorite pasttime, lighthousing. So, here goes:

What better way to view a lighthouse than to see it as it was intended, from the water? Well, to help make this possible I have arranged for Patty to receive gift #1 . It will, I believe, expedite the process of getting there. Now, to get to where this first gift can be used, Patty will need help. Knowing the kind of girl she is, I have ordered gift # 2 for her. Pretty much the same as in this pic, but I'm thinking of having flames added. Finally, for those more leisurely outings, I think Patty will enjoy gift #3 .

Now, I felt bad about not getting Mike anything of his own. Well, I found something I felt more appropriate for his level of expertise - gift #4 .

Maybe we can coordinate with Derith and Maureen to make good use of these gifts.

After Patty & Mike have picked up their present, I will be back to show how the rest of John's allowance was spent.

Happy Lighthousing & a Very Merry Christmas,

Bubba

Now, a word of thanks to Tim the Torchbearer for his thoughtfull gift. First, Tim, it's too late for the sanity as it is long gone (but not just because of Heather). I really like the sneaky spy stuff. At this point, Heather doesn't have enough time in her schedule for much of a social life. So, I have been looking at other ways to use my new toys and I think it will be lots of fun! Don't know where the stuff will turn up next!

Taking care of my buddy "Fred" at Christmas time isn't easy. Fred is well known for his charm and cross-country excursions behind the wheel of the "Fred-mobile".

Anyone who drives cross-country will sooner or later meet up with someone from the State Police, Highway Patrol, Sheriff's Department, or local Police.

In order to provide Fred with that extra margin of safety, and to reduce his travel time while traveling from the west coast to the east coast (where it is 40 degrees and raining heavily at the moment), I have chosen a very special gift for Fred:

www.raceschool.com

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Fred will enroll in Danny McKeever's Fast Lane Driving School where their motto is, "The speed limit?, Your ability is the only speed limit!"

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Fred will be enrolled in the three day High Performance Road Racing Course. Fred will trade the oxygen for nitrous oxide! Let's see if the cops in Nevada will be able to catch up to him when he passes through headed for the next Harbour Lights Reunion in ______________(insert your own location here) in 2004.

Merry Christmas, Fred!

From your buddy on the east coast, where as stated above, it's raining!

Bob

Hey Bubba, I must have been a really good girl this year! All your wonderful gifts will certainly come in handy while lighthousing. Too bad we didn't have the second boat for our cruise on the Chesapeake (this one is much more comfortable!). Not too sure if Mike really appreciated his though.

We hope you, Susan and Heather have a Merry Christmas and drive safely wherever your travels take you!

I was gonna get him a Nikon D1X digital camera, but then I remembered how much Mark loves music. We often hear him humming away as he works in the the Laboratory. After careful consultation with the Board Members of the FSB Endowment for All Things Artsy, we found an even nicer gift.

The living room of the Wagner household is the perfect spot to display this massive yet charming coin-operated Automatic Accordian! Its a finely crafted instrument made of select pressure treated hardwoods. The lighted interior of this musical centerpiece reveals its precision inner workings through leaded glass doors. Its sure to captivate everyone's heart (while making a few dollars on the side). After a fun day of lighthousing, imagine the joy Mark's wife and children will share as they return home to listen to the rich relaxing tones of accordian music from around the world! A 'G' roll of Tommy Brescznka's 'Christmas Accordian Classics' is included.

A family heirloom the Wagner family is sure to treasure as it is passed down from generation to generation.

The gift that keeps on giving

As their home is filled with joyous music there's no doubt that toes will start tapping. So here's a little stocking stuffer to help Mr. and Mrs. Wagner get off on the right foot.

Polka On!

The Merriest of Christmas's and the Happiest of New Year's to the entire Wagner Family!

I love the night life, I love to boogie ...

Merry Christmas Bill H.

We all know how accurate your predictions are on upcoming Harbour Lights pieces, but to improve on this accuracy even more, here is a gift sure to be of use...
Crystal Ball

Also, we all know you like to sip on a Strawberry Daquri while reviewing new releases, here is a gift to get the drinks from the bar to wherever you do your reviews...
Lighted Tray

Hope you enjoy!

Jakers,

Thanks for the gift! I'll be swinging by to get you this coming summer so we can head up to the Soo for some serious boatwatching.

I was thinking of getting George (Pharologst) a curio cabinet because the one he received was damaged, but then I think he did get a replacement.

So, my second choice for a retired couple was to send Mr. and Mrs. on a nice vacation, but I don't think they'd leave their precious little dog behind for two weeks (Ireland July 18 - August 1).
http://www.lighthousemuseum.org/tours.htm

So, I finally decided to get George and his wife one week at Rose Island as the keeper. Thee week of June 16-23, 2002, is available or, if you prefer George, you can wait until 2003 and pick a week when you can bring your dog.
http://www.roseisland.org/keeper.htm

Merry Christmas!

Wow, looks like Mark and Tim will be dancing the nights away at the FSB this year. Mark teaching Tim the Polkas, and Tim teaching Mark the Disco steps. I'll definitely stay away from their Friday night Poker games for awhile! LOL.

Patty, I was especially pleased with the first two gifts. Somehow I can just see you cruising down the road in that big old dually crew cab pulling your new boat! I really think the flames will help get a little more attention for you, as the bright red just quite wasn't enough. By the way, the truck, at $46,500, was rather nicely equipped. I went ahead and ordered you the turbo diesel version, all the heavy duty options and the full leather interior, complete with heated seats for those cold upstate New York winter mornings.

I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to do a little lighthouse cruising with you - shall we use the speed boat or the big boat?

The rest of Patty & Mikes gift --

Since I only spent about $317,000 of John's allowance, I have set the balance up in a trust account to provide them with a yearly allowance to operate their new toys. I have authorized the bank to forward them an allowance of $25,000 per year until the fund runs dry, to help pay for their lighthousing. (They better be hoping the market takes a serious upswing in the near future!)

BobM and friends - just got a call from Fred wishing the season's best and I read him your gifts. He loved it!

Says to say Hi to all - doesn't get on the Forums much, but still checks HL on ebay.

I think Fred would love to hear from some of his old time friends on the Forums once in a while. If anybody needs his phone number, send me an email and I'll send it along to you.

He's still got the infection he came down with on the return trip from the Reunion.

Wow!!, I don't what to say Tim, This explains all the sawing and hammering and odd noises coming from the FSB workshop. The kids thought someone was torturing a small animal in the workshop but now I guess it was just "tuning", and by the way I almost bought one of those but Michelle told "wait until after christmas, you'll never know what you might get"

Oh and Rod, as far as the Friday night poker game is concerned, it's still on and remember our motto "Liquor in the front and poker in the rear" or is that polka now?. But seriously though, first and third Saturdays are still disco nights and now second and fourth Saturdays are now Polka Saturdays (fish fry from 4-7) at the FSB dance hall & credit union. I can hear the music already (darn kids have it turned all the way up again)

Oh and Tim this stuff was in an overnight delivery box on the front steps of the FSB this morning

Hey thanks guys. I'm glad everyone is happy with their presents.

And don't forget the big she-bang on the 4th of July when the roots of rhythm meet the polka kings. Moist Air productions presents Shakya Bones and the Squeezetones in the FSB Ballroom! Thats right disco accordian music!

If I had to do it again
I would my friend,

Had to get Santa to help with a few of the arrangements for Bryan's gifts. I do hope that he has asked for at least a week off so that he can really enjoy it all.

First:You are going on a plane to a country that has a zillion lighthouses to see. Find the best date and finish booking the trip. Please remember that I am footing the bill. Of course, it's a round trip ticket. Be sure and type JAPAN for your destination.

Second: Once you have arrived, you will be met by the most honorable and foremost lighthouse guide that this country has to offer. I have made all the arrangements for you to be all over this country. No expense was too high.

Third: Your stops at the lighthouses that can be inspected will take your interest of international lights to new heights.

Fourth: Your stay will be in many cities and of course, you are sure to like all the hotels and the accomodations they offer.

Fifth: So, you don't speak the language, no problem. The following info will get you ready.

Now, you enjoy the trip and know that your every need will be taken care of. Happy Holidays!

Thanks Sue; how thoughtful
I found some great seashore stickers as well as ladybugs and bumblebees. Also picked up Patti Puddle and Rainy Day Dan for the albums for the grandkids. Hope you had a wonderful holiday.

Thanks Sunshine...we love your gift...would be nice if the RV gets here before we go to the Chicago Collectible Convention in June...having the slide out on the RV will make it so much more livable...And the camera will be great...I plan to go take some classes on digital photography in January... Judy, sure hope you had a great Christmas too...

Ruthie,
Does the new RV have enough room for me in June at the convention?
Hope you had a great Christmas celebration.

For Maureen:

Thanks so much for the gifts! I'm really going to love the Baltimore Reunion Rerun! As for the TV.... WOW! Now that, is a TV!!!

Hope you and your family are having a good holiday season. I know it's been rough considering your father-in-law. We will continue to hold him up in prayer!

Thank you Byran! But how did you know I was a Yankee fan? LOL Was it the hat? ..the jacket?
Those were all great gifts! I actually have a 1927 Team set of 10 figures on a walnut base featuring Murderer's Row, and a paperback book to go with it. I have all the b/w Yankee Championship Team pictures for the 50's and 60's. (I heard John C. might have all the Arizona Championship Team pictures?)
Legend has it that Fred was best friends with Lou Gherig growing up. Maybe even roommates at Columbia University? (Totally unsubstantiated but interesting...no?)

Randall,

Sorry for the late thank you. It is the perfect gift for me. I think it's great and would fit right in with my other Egyptian replicas and be my first boat.

Joanne
