Our beloved Patriots have gone down for the count. Maybe next year, Tom and friends. It was a fun season right up to the kick-off of the Ravens/Patriots game today. After that, everything went downhill. So be it... wait 'til next year.

What team are you supporting in the post season play? Maybe I'll join you.

Well I was rooting for the Eagles- until yesterday that is. shocked

I'm not sure who I'm rooting for-I'd like to see Brett Eavre and the Vikings take it- I definitely want them to beat the Coeboys next week.

I do not want the Cowboys to win anything - I'm sure who I'm rooting against. laugh

J! E! T! S! Jets Jets Jets!
Love my rookie coach, defense, rookie QB and rookie RB. There now in they're in the 2nd season and 1st game was the best yet.
I'm already playing with the house's chips!

Crazy season! Teams who are peaking at right time, have the advantage.

I know Bob won't join me. Too many injuries for Pats - Brady, Moss & Welker. I hate the Patriots especially Bellichick

How can you root for Favre? Chunky Soup! Hired Gun for himself.

Lots of good teams!

Sorry BOB,
Even though the Pats lost, I don't care how bad things get, I could NEVER root for the Jets. It would be like rooting for the YANKEES!! Sacreligeous!!!

Personally I want anyone besides the Cowboys to win it.

Personally, I'd enjoy an AZ vs. SD Superbowl.

As long as someone beats Dallas, I will be happy.

I have two big reasons to go with the Colts. First of all I grew up as kid a big John Unitas fan then a Bert Jones (Baltimore Colts) fan then of course over 25 years ago they moved to Indy, my home town. I have been a season ticket holder since day one that they have been the Indianapolis Colts!

No but I did put the pictures on the air the first time here of them arriving in Indy, we went live.

I remembered a third big reason: 4th MVP Peyton Manning

Peyton makes it a lot easier to spend the money on the season tickets every year..

Now I'll tell my tale of fandom. I was a bigtime Giants fan as a teenager, Went to North Shore of LI to watch Home blacked out games on CT TV stations or listened on the radio. You had to be born into a family to get tickets.
My first live game was Super Bowl II (Afc-NFC 2). I still have the ticket stub, program, and next days Miami Herald.
$10 ticket that I bought in a newspaper store while going to college in Fort Lauderdale. The following year I decided to wait until after Thanksgiving to buy a ticket. $10 was a lot of money in 1969. The Jets looked like the AFC team so, it was sold out by the time I got back from NY. I never saw the game, it was blacked out in FL.
I got season tickets for the Jets at Shea Stadium in 1970 - first year in last row of the upper deck in the endzone, Then lucked into 4 seats on the 20 yard line !0 rows from field behind the JETS bench. I stayed a season ticket holder until the kids started increasing. Saw OJs 2000 yard, Namath in a cloud of dust on the infield dirt.
Now I get to an occassional game at the Meadowlands. But watch all the games Jets & Giants on TV.
So I still have not seen my Jets in a SB but have lived vicariously through the Giants a few times.

In February 2007, Bob, my number was drawn in an electronic draw for the privilege to spend $1400 for the tickets then I needed plane tickets, a room and rental car.

It was worth every cent standing in the rain in the fourth quarter next to my son Chad and cheering the Colts getting ready to beat the Bears and winning the Super Bowl. All of the years of buying season tickets and watching the Colts lose game after game was worth it.

Nice Paul!
I've been to a Yankee-Detroit playoff win with Rob.
The Stanley Cup Final game Rangers-Boston with MaryAnn.
Patriot-Jet game (both 5-0) in NE with Kerri.
Yankee-Boston Randy Johnson one hitter with Michael & Rob.
Knicks 3rd row games next to bench in Pitino years. Close enough to talk to players a ensd of bench.
And many more.
Great times with family! Oh yeah, good games.

Sorry- I just find it impossible to root for the Cowboys these days.

I could when Staubach was the QB and Landry the Coach as they still had class then.

Rich, your reason for rooting for the Ravens is why being a lifelong Browns fan I could and will never root for the Ravens. I wanted the Packers to win it all but will now root for the Chicago-St. Louis-Arizona Cardinals. Someday may get to see a Packers/Browns Super Bowl.

Tom - I really have lost it in rooting for any NFL team since the old Browns moved to Baltimore and the new browns just can't seem to get it all together. I was excited when the Browns won their last 4 games in a row and hope things on the horizon are looking up with the new front office.

In the meantime, I will still root for the Ravens because there is no other team that rings my bell.

It doesn't bode well for the Jets- for a number of reasons.

I do hope they are able to do what the other 3 visitors were unable to do- although I'm glad the cowboys lost as well (it would have been nicer if they lost last week, though)

Sorry Paul, but even though the Colts are a fantastic team and Manning is probably going to be another Johnny Unitas, I still think of Manning as a Tennessee Volunteer and I HATE the Volunteers. I will have to root for whatever team plays against them. No hard feelings. Now, if it was Eli playing for the Colts, you'd have my backing.

What a decade the Colts have had!!!!!!

Was it Fall of 1998? Were you on a bus tour following the 1998 Reunion in Providence RI?

You got it John, Don presented each of us with a mug upon our arrival at Lighthouse Depot, when our buses arrived for stop at his store.

I managed to find this image of the store that I shot when we made our stop. Don had the mugs made special for the collectors on the Chidester pre-reunion bus tour to mark the occasion of our stop at Lighthouse Depot.

John, a couple of years ago while talking to Don on the phone, I mentioned that I stil use the mug for my coffee when shooting the new HL releases and he mentioned that he still uses one of the same mugs from that batch as his regular coffee mug.

While looking for the Lighthouse Depot image I came across a folder of images that was labeled Portland. They were shot at sunrise on September 28, 1998, just a couple of days before the bus tour and then the Reunion that year..

Kim used one of those images shot that morning with the first 1,000 or so HL404 Revised Open Edition Portland Head Lighthouses..

OK, you got the first two questions right, now for question three... What kind of coffee is that in those mugs?

Hopefully decaf in your case, my friend.

You are both incorrect, no decaf for me and I only put coffee in my coffee, no blends..

It was supposed to be a big mystery as to where in New England the 1998 Reunion was going to be held.

It wasn't too hard to uncover the location. There aren't many hotels in New England that could handle the number of rooms needed -- and at a town that had a commercial airport nearby.

I developed a list of possible hotels and called the sales departments asking questions about the "upcoming Harbour Lights event."

Got "Bingo" on the Westin in Providence!

And it's SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!

In this household, we're rooting for the Saints. The favourite may be the Colts, but I have a good feeling about New Orleans.

Miracles happen...after all, look at Super Bowl XLII! wink

Looks like they were not the team only team that deserved to be there.

The Saints were there to win one way or the other and they proved it by pulling out every play in the book and then some. Payton looked totally frustrated by his defense even though he tried his best. Finally after all these years it was the Saints turn. And if they can do it, maybe the Browns can do it. I have faith!

I suppose anything is possible - but expecting the Browns to even get to the super bowl is a stretch.

What a fantastic game. In my eye, the Saints won because they played the better game today. And their victory was totally deserved.

With Mardi Gras on Tuesday on top of this win, it's going to be quite a week in the Big Easy! May even last until I'm there next month...

I didn't see any fire in the Saints when the game began. The Colts were doing their typical "well oiled machine" style of play. It was like you knew that the Colts would get points on the board with each possession. The Saints came out with a very daring move with that on-side kick. I figured the score would go back and forth for the entire game after that. All we had to do was wait for one team to make a mistake. That came with the interception thrown by Manning.

The Colts have won the SB before. Now it was time for another team to enjoy the victory. I felt good for the Saints and their fans. Congrats to them on a well earned victory.

Paul, Dave, and the rest of you Indy people, my condolences. I know what it's like to have your heart ripped out by a Super Bowl loss, (see Patriots vs. Giants). At least the Colts lost to a team which played well the entire season and really deserved to be in the Super Bowl.
Congratulations to New Orleans!
