I seen a $2.09 cash only station yesterday. Many other cash or credit stations are between $2.14 and $2.19 in the Toms River area.

Seen it as low as $1.78 at a few of the BP stations north of Cincinnati! Keep going lower! I don't think anyone will complain!

$2.19 is the lowest I've seen in my travels in my general area. The news showed a $199.9 somehwere in Massachusetts. Enjoy it while it lasts because it won't stay like this forever.

Seems odd to see gas prices as low as $1.59 for regular. Might they go below a buck?

IF IT GOES FOR A BUCK.
How much do you want to bet the gas companys will ask for a bail-out?

After all the record profits Exxon and other gas companies have reported, tax payers will be outraged if the Senate or House even thinks about it.

What bothers me is the American car companies are starting to wine for help. No more bailouts !!! And I'm a big GMC fan, but they should straighten there finances from within.

$2.19 here.
Why bail them out when most people are struggling to make ends meet, keep their homes...let alone afford a new car?

$2.07 here in Piscataway, NJ. But just a mile and a half away, a station near the interstate is trying to sell for $2.59. What the hell is this?

I paid $2.59 for premium at the super-expensive station off the interstate, just because I needed a few gallons in a rush. But the running price for regular is fast approaching the $1 mark.

If they ask for a bailout, I will lose all faith in humanity. If they get it, I will lose all faith in government.

Here in WV its $2.48 today. Though its always more here, back in August I paid less out on Hatteras Island than I did at home. Airline prices are dropping too. I finally bought my tickets to Portland Oregon on election day for my February trip. Price had dropped $230 overnight so I quit shopping and bought them. Now today the rental car rates have dropped $60. If you can travel, now would be a good time.

Greg,

I don't think we'll ever see anything approaching the $1.00 mark.

However, your statement

Quote:
If they ask for a bailout, I will lose all faith in humanity. If they get it, I will lose all faith in government.
is something that I totally agree with.

$2.08 on Saturday, $1.93 yesterday. Considering inflation we may soon approach 1950's prices. By the way anybody thinking of installing one of those new backyard nuclear power plants?

It went from $2.03 to $1.99 today, at the Gulf Station closest to my home. I never imagined it would fall that far. The politicians in my State smell a chance to raise the gas tax so they can punish everybody evenly. Welcome to "Taxachusetts"!

Down to $1.86 yesterday. I went to the CPI calculator (http://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm) and calculated that $.30 gas in 1966 would costs $2.03 today.

We were down to 1.72.9 earlier this week, then the greedy bums decided to take their normal weekend bump - they hadn't done that as much when the gas prices were so high. Back to 1.82.9 this afternoon, bet it will drop another dime or so in the next couple days. Wonder how long it will last before the greed returns?

I'm sure others have also changed their habits, trying to be smarter about their driving, planning trips around town more efficiently and such.

Only has come down a dime to $1.91 since Nov. 9th in Ocala. The good thing is that we are not going up and down like Dave's area.

Up and down is ok if you plan ahead and don't buy on the weekends, we usually try to fill up our cars mid-week and we shop at Kroger's for our groceries which gives us an additional dime off per gallon price at the pump. Sue uses coupons and we have a Kroger shopping card which gives some more off every week, it all helps!

$1.89 for 87 octane up the street at the Sunoco. Gulf is $1.93. I just got a load of fuel oil at the house. Cost was $2.69 a gallon. Last fill up was late spring and it was $4.65 per gallon at that time. I feel much better about the prospects of heating my home this winter.

Well it's been over a month since gas prices were somewhat of a hot topic. I figure we may be at the lowest point now and further movement will be in an upward direction.

87 octane is $1.56 at the local "cheapo" station up the street. The lowest I've seen in my travels is $1.53 a gallon. Enjoy it while you can because "The times they are a changing".
