The not given a chance Carolina Panthers upset(?) the Minnesota Vikings 24 - 13. It might be their only win this year, but let the carnage begin.

The Brownies almost pulled one off too! A 52 yard fieldgoal with 8 seconds left sealed the fate though. 9-6 Seattle

Unfortunately the Eagles could not do the same.

Sometimes it's best to just fall on the fumble and let the offense do their job.

At least it was a good game in the second half.

Sorry Dennis- was happy to see our Rams win today! Now I just wish that I could get some tickets!! We saw the Rams in preseason at the Hall of Fame Game and that might be our only chance for a live game this year!

The area's "home team", the New England Patriots, took one on the chin yesterday. I do follow them but I try not to get too excited.

Given the choice, I would rather watch Doug Flutie (Chargers) work his magic in the NFL.

Bob, how are the Patriots this year? If the lowly Cincinnati Bengals can beat them, it can't look good for New England this year!

Terry... I'm trying to keep the faith regarding the Panthers. It's amazing how the press over night has changed it's opinion of the Panthers. For the last week, the locals had written this game off. I'm so glad all of them have been served a piece of humble pie. Of the many players on the Panther's roster, Weinke came out glowing. He walked onto the field with the Panthers being 10-point underdogs and played like a seasoned veteran. The defense also did a great job by capitalizing on turnovers. They may not be the 1996 Panthers, but then time will only tell!

The Bills only showed up in the first half Sunday then must have thought it was still preseason.I don't expect much from them this year. A whole new offense, defense, special teams and coaches, but I will stick with them until they finally win the big one. Do I have any choice? We want Flutie back!

Tim, speaking of 1996. That was the last year they won their season opener. They also had a winning record that year and were a Greenbay win away from going to the Super Bowl. Their game next week is in New England. So all you NE fans can finally get a win. The Panthers always have a very hard time with them.

The Pat's , like the Buc's seem to flow with the tide! I will always root for them, but never expect to see them in the big game.
I prefer to root for specific players. A lot of times though, they are normally the guys that have great potiential, but for some reason never do much. i.e. Eric Rhett!
