Last weekend, we were basking in temps in the 60's, washed and waxed the car, even my work truck got it's once a year wash and wax. I was even putting up Christmas lights in my shirt sleeves. Now, we're about to get hit with a foot of snow tonight and tommorrow. I guess that's whay they say in Chicago, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute.

Glad I got the snowblower out and running!

Yes even here in New York they are talking snow for Monday. Hope it's not going to be a bad winter. Snow is lovely to look at but I could do without the cold!

It's roughly 9:30 AM and it's already 56 degrees here in southeastern Massachusetts. Temps will be in the 60's today. Like stated above, some light snow is predicted for Monday.

This has been one of the warmest Novembers on record in my neck of the woods.

Well...it's 13 degrees outside at 7:45am. YUCK! mad 10 days ago I was in St. George, UT and Zions National Park...temps were in the mid 70's.

Time to plan a warm getaway. wink

Hey Lorie, I just talked to Mark and he said it's 18 now. He still claims that he does not need a winter coat in the sun. Obviously, he's out of his mind after building all those houses in the winter snow in NY! Now I know you're the other way and below 60- you're freezin'. Time for a road trip as you suggest but ...you have other duties on the way. It about 65 here today!

It's still 65 here...unusually temperate for this time of year. I'd say it's global warming, but that's just an activist fantasy, so I'll call it strange weather patterns.

If that's Global Warming, Greg, I can take some more of it!!

But then isn't everything that's wrong today due to Global Warming...

Yesterday we had a high of 72. Now it is 29 degrees with sleet and freezing rain. There is ice accumulating very fast on the streets and sidewalks. As soon as my car thaws out and I can get the ice removed I'm heading for home. The ice is supposed to change to snow around midnight.

Currently 34 in Denver with predicted low of 12 tonight. This morning the lowest temp in Colorado was in Greeley (hour and a half north) of minus 18. Usually Gunnison is the coldest spot in the state. Roads were icy and snowpacked yesterday, finally melting off, but will freeze again at sunset.

I looked at this website , and I would be fine. We're about 400 feet above sea level - the water would have to reproduce several generations to ever make it up here.

Although it will suck that just about every lighthouse would be underwater, too...and actually, about half of NC would be gone. And it looks like the Netherlands are kind of in trouble, too.

But really...global warming?

We were 66 here today, missed tying a record by 1 degree. But no sun so didn't feel as warm as it could have. Raining now. Tomorrow's our crazy day. Cooler then warmer, high winds predicted and then we start crashing downwards to more seasonable weather. Sure has been nice while it's lasted.

Never got to that last mow and mulch Paul. Too much rain so finally gave up and put the mowers to bed.

Snowblower's ready and spent this week working on wood for the new stove. Figures I get a new, more efficient but smaller stove and the wood I'd previously ordered had to be the largest wood I'd ever had. So had to take the chain saw to some of it. All that hopefully fits is now in the back of my basement. My dad being the clever man that he was, had constucted a shoot from the garage to the basement. Some years ago while the shoot was down one of my cats decided to investigate it and got too far in. I got to see him come sliding down and land in the woodbox! He had his claws out trying to put his brakes on to no avail so he "screeched" all the way down. smile

We set a new record high yesterday at 69 degrees. The previous record for 11/30 was 68 degrees set in 1881.

My young hairy son hurled at 0320 hrs so I let him and Mr. Mo out while I cleaned up. It was still 63 degress outside and it is now at 0540 hrs.

I can't recall ever having such a warm November, and now it's December. This is great! I just paid $2.39 a gallon for my last home heating oil fill-up two days ago. Each warm day is better than another cold one (Not frosty lager, Sue!)

Currently 8:00 a.m. and we are getting POUNDED! I live Northwest of the city, where the worst snow is supposed to fall. Had about 6" this morning at about 5:00 a.m., now the heavy stuff is coming, another 6-10 inches by lunchtime. It's snowing now at a rate of 2" an hour. Blowing ad drifting as well.
Maggie, my Daughter is happily enjoying her first ever snow day from school.

It's 9:15 AM here in Kent, CT and 61 degrees on December 1st! So overcast it seems like dusk. They're calling for 50 mph winds today that will blow in that storm from Illinois and we may have snow by Monday. Can't say I'm looking forward to change in weather, but we've battened down the hatches and put everything that could be a projectile somewhere safe. Yep, here it comes. . . .

Well...it started off cold and windy here at about 6:30 a.m. It is now snowing quite hard and the ground is covered! I better get off the computer and get outside and finish the last of my Christmas lights!

Today it is 85 degrees on the Gulf Coast of sunny Florida. My doors and windows are all open and I'm getting a wonderful balmy breeze.
Anybody jealous yet?

It is currently 31 degrees here in Tennessee at 7pm. Tomorrow we will have a high of 38 degrees. I guess perfect weather for a Christmas parade, except for those of us that have to be out in it all day preparing and working the parade. I guess we can be glad we missed the snow and ice they were calling for today.

I saw on the news that it got bad up around St Louis with power outages and ice. I hope everyone is okay. I will be thinking about all of you in the areas that are getting hit bad with the weather and pray for your safety.

When I woke up at 0445 hrs, the temp was 46 degrees and the stars were out. It is suppose to cool down and rain is headed this way, but I don't think my area of southeastern Massachusetts is going to see any real wintery weather today.

Patriots versus the Detroit Lions tomorrow at Gillette Stadium! Weather is suppose to be good!

No, Debbie I don't want to trade! I used to live
in Maine. That white stuff is one of the reasons
I live in Florida now. Don't get me wrong. Maine is a beautiful state and I love to go back
to visit but I like to pick the season.

At the moment (18:10 hrs) it is still 53 degrees outside. But that won't last much longer. The clouds are being blown away by some rather stormy winds. It is blowing real hard!

I am beginning to get envious! I love snow!
But there is no chance for any here. It is still in the mid to high 50s and the sun is out.
The wind is trying hard to make it cold. It is blowing a storm. But: no chance!
Even in Germany my family reports that they can not seem to get into the Advent spirit, because it is too mild - nearly warm. frown

From talking to the various shopkeepers around here, they seem to be having the same problem, Margret. Usually, the shoppers tend to come in droves when it gets cold or snows. So far, neither has happened. So the numbers are suffering a bit as a result.

Of course, when it does start snowing, it's going to make me real happy that we have everything done. smile

I'm a bit behind on this thread, but we got about 6 inches on Friday (Mary had a snow day, too, Mike! Maggie is in kindergarten, right?) and then another couple today from lake effect snow. I was out planting the rest of my bulbs and tossing 240lb of lime down on my yard about 8 hours before the snow started coming down!

I let the "boys" out at 0500 hrs. Nothing happening at that time. Approximately 0530 hrs, wet snow is falling, temp 35 degrees. Nothing is sticking because the ground is too warm. The grass is still as green as it was in the growing season. I still have Swiss Chard and Parsley growing in the garden. Winter hasn't arrived here yet!

Well things changed shortly after I completed the above post. We got some heavy wet snow and we actually had about an inch of accummulation. Most of it melted soon thereafter as the sun did shine. Maybe winter has arrived.
