Yep! I was in the city today, and all the water from the melting snow pelted me every time I walked under a scaffold...or awning...or lamppost.

It was the best wet I've ever felt! laugh

Oh yes I am feeling Spring but not in a good way....Sore red nose, stuffy head, weepy eyes, had to pull out the allergy medication, and the Puffs tissues as pollen level is very high! Hit very hard, not like last year at all. Had a very easy time for some reason????

Well, one indication of spring around the Chicago area is the road construction season has begun. Our street is currently torn up, with the curb removed so we can't get the cars into our driveway or garage. Was only supposed to take a "few days", but now its supposed to rain for those next "few days" so looks like it will be well into next week now. Oh well, thats what happens this sime of year around here.

Poor Melody! Hope you get better soon!

It reminds me of spring in Albuquerque about five years ago. The juniper bushes were flowering big time and Stan ended up in bed, he was that poorly. Up to that point he didn't know he had allergies. But ever since ...

But it is definitely SPRING here... even though it has turned cold again. But the sun is shining and it is crisp and bright!

As the Weather Person said "You can tell you are in Upstate NY when the temperature on Christmas Day was higher than the temperature expected on Easter".

It must have been a lot warmer in NYC than it was in NY. I don't think anything melted. Either we plowed through spring, summer and fall with the blink of an eye, or else time moved backward like in the Superman movie. mad

Having a heat wave here. . .20 degrees at 7:30 AM, 29 degrees at 10:05 AM!!

Off to the West Haven, CT shore (New Englanders are true wackos) for fish, fried clams at our favorite seafood restaurant. Happy to drive some 60 miles to get out of cooking holiday dinner!!

Happy Holiday to all. . . .

It was 28 degrees here in southeastern Massachusetts this morning. The sun is still shining but it's cold and breezy. The temps are suppose to reach the high 30's-low 40's today. At least it isn't raining!

Happy Easter to all!

We had a beautiful dusting of snow Saturday morning. It lasted 'til noon. By 2:00, you could hear lawn mowers all over the neighborhood.
Very chilly Easter though, even here.

Hope everyone is having a happy one.

The snow's been flying around here the past few days. This morning we woke up to a few inches. First time I recall shoveling a path to the door for Easter guests!

Hasn't been any better here either! Snow flurries yesterday...again! mad The grandkids couldn't go out to blow bubbles or try out their new baseball gloves.
Wind has been terrible-30 to 40mph. Temps with wind chill has been around 0.
All my tulips and daffodils have bought the farm. frown

I had alot of daffodils that were in bud and was hoping for blooms for Easter.
The weather men said it is supposed to warm up to 40...but then have rain or snow Wed. One station is predicting 2-4".
Maybe spring went south?

I don't know where spring went, but it's not here. We have over a foot since midnight and it still looks like the inside of a snow globe outside. Think I'll shoot the groundhog.

Here in Westchester we got hit pretty hard. 7+ inches of rain. Lots of roads closed due to flooding, lakes and rivers overflowed. Schools all closed today. People evacuated and temparary shelters set up in schools. Our basement flooded, water was at least six inches deep, the worst we have ever had, usually we just get a little damp around the walls. Fortunately we did not have to be taken from the house in a row boat, like some area residents.

We were supposed to get snow this past Friday, anywhere from 4 - 18 inches (depending on location's altitude), but were fortunate and only received an inch or so. Whew! Denver dodges a Spring Blizzard!

The high today was in the low 50's and was sunny and windy in the AM, but clouded up this afternoon and we are supposed to get some rain, but thankfully nothing like a Nor'Easter (did I spell that correctly?).

Wishing those of you farther East drier days ahead.

Melody,

You spelled the word correctly. Congratulations. You won first prize.

I'm thinking of all my northern friends and what you've been through thanks to this amazingly strong storm. I've seen some photos and can't even imagine.

Here we dodged the bullet of possible tornadoes, got a lot of thunder & rain, and then a lot of wind.

Two of the smaller trees in my front yard were uprooted and fell across my driveway early this morning, I guess from all the moisture in the ground combined with the wind. One missed my car by less than two inches.

I don't know where the sunshine and warmth of Spring went either. It's good I didn't pack away winter's clothes when the flowers began to bloom. They've needed jackets ever since and so have I.

Glad everybody stays safe.

Judy

We survived the storm with no problems (luckily!). I did see several very large trees down in our neighboring town. The three trees I saw were all rotted on the inside. It's that hidden damage you don't see until the tree comes down.

The wind blew as hard as 50-60 mph and the rain was heavy. The news is reporting extremely high tides coming up tonight with twenty-foot seas. I'm glad "It's Only Money" is not in the water yet.
