Two photos taken last April of "It's Only Money" when Lorna and I brought her back to her new home in Rhode Island. It was a rather chilly seven hour trip. Ocean temps are still pretty cool in mid April.

I thought I uploaded the same name as the file. Apparently I was mistaken, and thank you very much for helping me out!

After a tough day at Scotch Beach on Block Island, the family took off their "walk-on-water shoes" (crocks etc.) and settled down for a cocktail (adults only). I saw the water shoes lined up to dry on the stern and thought it could make for an interesting pic.

Thanks, Ruthie! There is a lot of boating history with that name. I have had it on every boat we owned since 1987. People get to know you by your boat name so Lorna and I decided we wouldn't change it when we purchased the current "It's Only Money".

Here's a pic of "It's Only Money" and my hard bottom inflatable we use to go to the beach and explore other areas of the places we visit with the boat. The boat next to mine is my son's boat named "After School". My daughter-in-law is a School Teacher. Photo was taken at the Block Island Boat Basin.

Stan, ...That's my son's 310 Sea Ray. He is currently in the market for a bigger Sea Ray. What do you have for a boat?

That's the one. I bought it in Eastport. I watched it for almost six months on the Net before I made the real move. I made "low-ball" offers right away but the owner wouldn't accept them. I saved roughly thirty grand off the asking price. It only had 209 hours on the engines. The former owner didn't use it and wanted out of boat ownership. He wanted out and that boat was exactly what Lorna and I were looking for.

That inflatable is a 10' 6" AB hard-bottom. It is the world's greatest raft as far as I'm concerned. It's very dry and really flys with a decent size outboard. I have a 9.9 hp Mercury and a 4 horse 4-stroke Yamaha. The Yamaha is for convenience (light weight but slow), and the Merc is for speed (heavy to handle but fast on the water). My son has the same raft but a year newer. They aren't cheap though. New they are over three grand for this size.

What kind of boat do you have? Where do you cruise to?

Actually I currently don't even have a boat. But I've had various size boats as long as I can remember.

Gee I was getting excited because I thought you guys were boaters. Nothing like a boat during the nice warm summer months. The rest of the year isn't quite as much fun.

Hey Bob...we are boating people but only on Lake Powell. Lake Powell is mainly in UT and a small portion in AZ where the Glen Canyon Dam is located. It is north of the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River. It has approx. 1900 miles of shoreline and 130 miles in the main channel. It has spectacular scenery...kind of like viewing the Grand Canyon from the water level.

We have had 25', 31', and 34' Cruisers boats that we slipped in Wahweap Marina at Lake Powell. I'm not that much in to camping so we traded for a new 252 Cobalt for day and the Holiday Inn and dinner out in Page, AZ for night! We now keep our boat in dry storage at the lake.

It takes us a little over 2 hours to get to Lake Powell from our home. Much better than the 7 hour drive from our old SLC home.

The Cobalt is a fabulous boat for what you use it for. Lorna and I searched hard for the right 320 Sea Ray. I almost bought a 3375 Cruisers but its overall length of 37' would not fit into my home slip and would force me out of the area I like to stay at Block Island. The 320 has LOA of 35' and just fits in both slips.

Lorna and I use it for a summer home and enjoy having the large shower and heat/AC. It is extremely comfortable to live on during the summer. The only drawback is it burns 28 gph. It's a little expensive to run but we're working on some bottom paint modifications and tuning or changing the props. I'd like to get it down close to 23-24 gph. That's what it's suppose to burn.

Put a photo in of you boat! What did you name it? Any other boat owners in the crowd?

Sigh ... I used to have a boat until I became too disabled. I had a Drascombe Scaffie, which is a double ended day boat sailing boat. She was lovely and so easy to sail. But it became too hard to take her on an off the trailer.

We had a canvas top for it, so we could camp under it. Did a whole lot of exploring with it.

We had a neat little Seagull outboard motor too.

But I guess that does not count as real boat ownership?

This was the previous "It's Only Money". I purchased her brand new on St. Patrick's Day 1989. We kept her until she was sold this summer. It was a great boat and was still running just fine on her original engines. I took this picture at Mystic Seaport in Mystic CT.
