Is anyone else tired of the "Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie" and "Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes" junk that appears on every newscast. Everytime I hear the term "baby bump", I want to hurl.

That is not news. Any info dealing with those people should be reserved for the rag-sheet tabloids that people read in the checkout lines of supermarkets.

How long do you think those Hollywood hacks will stay together? Maybe I should call Bill Bob and Nicole to see how long they give them.

 Bob

Precisely my sentiments! I think young and old are as sick of all the hype. At least we don't hear much about J-Lo anymore! Enough already!

The couple I can't take anymore is 'steroids and baseball'. It's been two years, anything new left? :p  frown

I'm getting sick and tired of all the news and especially about New Orleans. They complain that the federal government won't give them money to fix the levees and now that they have the money, all of a sudden it isn't enough. The people that can't get back to their homes and repair them because of no gas, electricity and the debris not being cleared away are the ones that I worry about. I go publicly on record now by saying that the city will take all the property away by eminent domain and will clear it and build fancy high rises/shopping malls/entertainment complexes and the people will be out their property because they couldn't get in to rebuild and therefore didn't pay taxes.

Bob ...

On the other hand, might you remember, being from the greater NYC area, the combination of "Baseball and Ballantine ... it's a combination you cant beat!"
... and how great was Mel Allen and his call of a "Ballantine Blast?"

Rich ...

I was trying to follow your post and was having difficulty ... maybe, as today is the 100th anniversary of the San Francisco Earthquake, we should remember, by one account, without all the partisanshp and beuaracracy that exists today, it took over nine years to rebuild that city from the ashes ... anyone got a really large timepiece for New Orleans?

Barry & Tom,
I went to a Yankee day game Thursday with one of my sons, and sat in the leftfield bleachers. It was a beautiful day with a lively 'bleacher creacher' crowd! We even good naturedly hassled a few Red Sox fans. I yelled to them, "What are you doing at a Yankee game? Is it the only way to see a wicked good game?" That got a good response from the crowd. wink
Then I get home to listen to ... shocked
We're going to Wrigley, White Sox, and Milwaukee in September with the boys. Been talking about doing it for years. Day/night in Chicago and Brewers the next night! laugh

Yaaaaaaayyyy...Tom and Katie had the baby.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4921228.stm

Now let's move on with our lives, and let them move on with theirs. I really don't care. Congratulations, they had a baby...that's actually great. But I don't need to hear about it any more.

Trust me...as soon as I hear the theme music of the celebrity "news" show come on after the nightly news, I lunge for the TV to change it up three channels to Jeopardy!.

Just about the only time I'll watch the sludge is if there's something about Friends on it. I swear, it's my only pop-culture TV programme that I like! wink

Yeah, now maybe they can find the time to get married.

Amazing that I used to actually like Tom Cruise. That was way before his couch jumping days.

Judy, I'm with you! I did like him at one time - I guess it was during the Nicole days, before he became so full of himself.

How about all the photographers scrambling to get a picture of that new baby stroller. Wouldn't you like to have an 8x10 for your collection?

Still doesn't make me think any higher of him...but at least he knows what kinds of cars to hang out of. smile

Hey forget all this other unimportant talk. Brittany and Kevin are expecting another kid! Isn't that the most wonderful (or is that woeful) news you've heard in oh, say the last 5 minutes!

Who's Brittany and Kevin? confused

There's a lot of them. I think that there's some kind of list of 20 names that you can choose from (or somehow you're parents get "subliminally" transmitted to them) to be in Hollywood. The only deviations allowed are obscure (read: made up) spellings, or strange, ethnic (can also be read: made up) names.

Why Spears ever got involved with the undesireable mooch, I'll never know. She even married him knowing he had a bad track record.

Well Bob, I don't think she could ever be credited with being the brightest bulb in the fixture! I guess in that respect they're perfect for each other. I just can't believe it's lasted as long as it has.
